In Need of "Staging Folder" for Mods on External Hard Drive

I am trying to add mods to Baldur's Gate 3, which I have on an external hard drive, but Vortex is telling me my stating folder is not marked correctly. It is asking me to connect it to the game's "staging folder". How would I go about doing that? I cannot seem to find a staging folder in the game's folder in my external hard drive.

Staging folders DO NOT go in the game folder. That's the point of them.

 

It should automatically suggest a correct location. But your external drive needs to have NTFS formatting.

It didn't suggest one, which is why I am asking for help.

 

Nothing about your response answered my question. All you did is tell me what I am doing wrong and then offer no solution. Thank you for your time, but I am looking for assistance in solving this issue as well as knowing where I am making mistakes.

It's hard to advise when you don't know the level of knowledge of the asker.

 

Have you gone into Vortex's settings, chosen the "mods" tab and checked the entry for "mod staging folder"?

 

Is there a "suggest" button right next to it?
