Slawter500
Hi there This is probably a noob mistake ive made but anyway I go into construction set, And make some adjustments, minor tweaks sort of thing, and then i save it, So I then go and activate it in my launcher, Then i go to program files>Bethesda softworks>Oblivion>data, And its not there, I've tried searching my computer for the files, but all the search turns up is a shortcut which leads to >Program Files>Bethesda softworks>Oblivion>Data and the it says its searching for the file when i open the shortcut, yet after an hour it is still not found. This has become a regular thing now. Technical information that may help. I'm on vista.I've got autosave every 5 minutes for CS, But that comes up with an error message.I've got a large number of mods in my data folder, Could the folder be full? I'll really appreciate any help Sorry for wasting your time Thanks ~Adios~~Slawter500~
Maigrets
I have no idea about the Vista issue, I use XP, but make sure your game and the CS are both the same version. For example, mods made with the 1.2 version of the CS will NOT work in a game not patched to the same level. When you say you have a large number of mods it depends on how many. Excluding the main game files and a few other things I have over 200 esps and ESM's which is a lot less than a lot of people have and I don't have any issues. My CS never crashes and sometimes I'm using it for hours on end but not for anything extremely taxing on my system, like world building.Maybe it would help if you reinstalled it, particularly because the 5 minute save error. You can of course extend that time in the Preferences or like me turn Autosave off altogether. It's notorious in the game for causing problems and I'd assume the CS would be the same. Just make sure to remember to save manually as often as necessary. And backup your files so you don't lose precious progress.

Virtual Store in Oblivion? I must have missed something over the last few years unless Vista does some very strange things.
Dracula420
vista's virtual store is a temporary saving place that it moves thing to for security reason(acually its just retarded like that but whatever) anyway is never seems to want to move oblivion stuff or CS stuff back where you want it. this happen to me every time i update or save a new esp. but i always use the mod manager so its never been a problem for me. XJDHDR
The system you are having a problem with is Vista's UAC protection system preventing the CS (and most programs, for that matter) from making changes to files in the "Program Files" folder. The solution is that you must install all your programs outside that folder (try C:/Games).

nosisab
Just a small comment about the number of mods can one have at a time. Actually is the number of entries (ESPs, ESMs) that matters. The game will prefix them second the load order and uses a byte for it, so 256 (00 to FF hexadecimal) is an absolute limit to that number, yet some entries are reserved, so something around 253 (counting the original and DLCs entries) is the final limit.
