Can I use one Vortex for games installed on two separate drives ?

I currently have Skyrim SE installed on one drive and Starfield on another. When I installed Starfield, a Vortex error message told me I needed to have Vortex installed on the same drive and the game. I then installed a separate Vortex on the same drive as Starfield. Then Vortex, installed both Skyrim SE and Starfield, on each of my Vortex installations. Do I still need separate Vortex installations? If not, which one do I keep?

You can't actually have two Vortex installations. Installing a second will simply replace the first.

 

And it doesn't matter where Vortex is installed. What matters is where you set the "staging folder" for each game. Each staging folder has to be on the same drive as the associated game.
