zanity Posted October 5, 2023 Share Posted October 5, 2023 Star docks, star ports, star yards, star stations- a living space with ships actually having a purpose, and named ships actually in motion continuously piloted by various named NPCs, will come to pass- but I'd say these systems will take more like FIVE years. Cheap-n-nasty hacks to the putrid vanilla game seem utterly pointless, however. The rotten game doesn't become any better because a really really bad system is hacked a little bit by a mod to make it a little less 'annoying'. The base game is trash. Every decent modder knows this. But the game framework is good enough to expect to be able to tear down and rebuild everything. Space ships will become cool only when they have a valid RPG and living world existence. In the meantime, people who must should really play the vanilla game while holding their nose. Yes, the list of that which stinks is endless, but wanting mods that spray perfume over the stinky parts misses the point. Imagine if the talent of the good modders was utterly wasted only in perfume spraying operations. When instead they could be preparing to craft entire new systems into the game just as soon as the tools are built/are released. I know which I'd prefer- what every sane fan of the Beth open-world gaming genre would prefer. The vanilla game is not worth 'saving'. niston Posted October 7, 2023 Share Posted October 7, 2023 From my experience, ppl give zero f*#@s about new game systems.They want COD weapon ports, superthicccccccc chars with XXXXXXXXXXXXL tits and skimpy clothes. I think (haven't tried it yet) you can sell you ships, however the Frontier does not really belong to you, it is a loaner... So giving it back to the Contillation would mean other members could go out exploring while you are collecting artifacts, killing off Starborn, and trying to get to Unity... My 0.002 USD... aurreth Posted January 24 Share Posted January 24 Seriously? Just sell it. Ships for Sale (Sell Frontier and Starborn Guardian) This mod was uploaded in September, before y'all started complaining. Or you could just disassemble it, use it as an empty shell to build your dream ship from scratch, and change its name. You don't have to keep a single piece of it, and it has zero impact on the game to sell all the parts and rebuild something you like. Same for every free ship you are given.
