Bl4ckRabbit
Hello here ! I'm in a bit of a pickle. My main save seem missing when I launch the game via vortex. I tried creating a new one, and it's save correctly when relaunching the game. Via steam it's visible (I didn't launch it to not corrup the save, I may be a noob but I'm not that stupid - hopefully -). I searched a bit online before posting here, and it seem the issue is that I have somehow changed profile (I don't remember doing so before the issue started, I have since dabbled with it to try to fix the problem, with no success). Therefore, I have two folders in my saves folded, one for each profile, both containing their respective save files. Currently the one visible in "profiles" - and the one selected when I launch the game" is the one with my new save, and the other one cointain (thanksfully) all my old save files. And I don't know how to merge them, or at the very least switch to my old profile to continue on my old save ! I must be blind, cause I searched everywhere in vortex with no avail. Can someone help me ? "This one would be most grateful", as my Khajiit would say. With regards,Tenshi
Solution showler Posted October 8, 2023 Solution Share Posted October 8, 2023 Just copy the files from the old directory into the folder where your new saves are being stored.
Bl4ckRabbit
I couldn't do that, the old and new folders were the same. But anyway, the problem fixed istelf by just changing back and forth profiles despite not having matching ID. I'm kinda at a loss as to why it worked, but hey I'll take it. I was desperate and it payed off! Thank you anyway dear :D Edited October 8, 2023 by Bl4ckRabbit
HellFreezer
You have discovered exactly how Vortex is designed to work. Profiles allow a logged in user to play multiple independent instances of the same game with significantly different combinations of mods, and switch back and forth between play sessions as you may choose, without any profile interfering with or even knowing about any other profile. Each profile uses its own set of saves and stores them separately. You can freely modify your separate subsets of mods, by adding, deleting, enabling, or disabling any or all without disturbing any other game's configuration or settings. You don't need to have or use any 2nd user account to accomplish that, just your one username. Rock on!
