Switch
Ahh yes. This is a good one I think, despite what some anti-final-fantasy people may say. :P It kept me very addicted for the period of about 1 year... it has decent gameplay and is generally very polished, although the graphics may look a teensy bit outdated now. The only bad thing about it is post level 40... it starts to get ridiculously hard to get a group for your level (and of course you cannot solo at all, unless you're a beastmaster) to the point of actually destroying the game. Unless, that is, you have about 12 hours a day (for level 50+) to play obsessively sending out LFG requests, looking for groups, members, forming, failing, putting up with cr@ppy excuses like "oh i need to eat even though i joined ur group 5 mins ago" "i need to sleep" "my toes are cold!" etc etc. :P I never actually made it to 50 as it was already starting to grate on me at 40... and the release of WoW totally distracted me from it. Too dependant on fellow human beings to make it work. Grouping is all fine and good, but compulsory grouping is where things can get messy. :P However, up until that point, it is pretty entertaining I think. The way you can play any class you want on just one character and be at least reasonably good at it is a pretty cool feature. Decorating your house (which you get from the start), growing plants, fishing etc... tons of stuff to do. Although I must say I never really liked that whole crystal synthesis crafting system too much... :X
banzaroo
Is it illegal to look at bug sites? Does Square have any sort of code that can track if I am reading an exploit and dupe site for Final Fantasy XI out of personal curiousity? I do not plan on cheating any, I just came across http://exploitsrus.home.insightbb.com with some FFXI exploits and clicked it just to see what was on the other side. Switch
It is illegal within the game, yeah. I mean I wouldn't go spouting about it in a public place within the game or anything. :D But just looking at a dupe/exploit page with your browser isn't going to be detectable by Square. They can only detect what goes on within the game world.
CLB1110
When I played this game at my friend's house I thought it was a blast. Of course he didn't like watching me play for 4+ hours, but thats besides the point. Like most MMORPGs its very addictive, and fun to level up your character, get new items, and obtain new skills. Since it's in an FF world it makes it all the better. I thought the midget people race was pretty fun. I cant seem to remember what they were called though...
