Voldruun
I started getting this error after updating to the newest version of vortex, tried to desinstall and reinstall but nothing worked. I have a dualboot hardware but this was never a problem before and worked just fine.

mrperry2u
I updated to the newest version of Vortex. Now I get two instances of this same error message. For me, they name two encrypted drives from which Vortex is, of course, unable to access .GamingRoot.
Nagev
Hi there! Are any of you guys available for some custom testing? Reading through the code - that bit of functionality shouldn't have complained at all - if anything was/is unreadable, it should've just ignored that file. I tried to reproduce this in my development environment with an external CD-ROM (lol) device and our drive detection library just skipped it. Let me know here or on Discord (My username is nagev_)

bobgh0
Just adding a "Me too". Vortex looking for .GameingRoot on a G: drive. I usually click on "Cancel". Any help for this?
Solution Pickysaurus Posted December 13, 2023 Solution Share Posted December 13, 2023 This is fixed in the current beta build (1.9.11) - you can either opt into the beta or wait for the full release.
zzazzq
I'm getting the error too, and the drive letters it is referencing refer to partitions that are ext4 for a Linux(kubuntu) dual boot.
