[20.8][0073] Based in Gaiamary as linked to Safeumary (Direct continuation of the story post before this one)

Sharry spoke. "The muffled noises, that seemed to be coming from the Cratercompound, may have been the results of an open rift. That is the screaming, shrieking and gunfire. Or at least that is the hypothesis that we Gaiaregainers have come up with."

Jackman was sitting in on the meeting while spending a lot of time staring at Sharry.

Gavag nodded. "If that is the case then finding the source, of the sounds, will not be easy." He clearly did not like the undue attention that Jackman was giving to his wife but was not sure just why he felt a sense of unease. "Especially as they are so generic."

Jackman responded, dryly. "If that is all you have to report than I will be going."

Sharry turned to him. "Why did you lie about the Pannazzine Empire? Did it not have a genocidal program that it  was carrying out."

Jackman sighed. "I was hoping you would not bring that up. The GreatEnemy twisted the minds of fools who hoped to be safe, from him, by serving him. They became monsters that to save we had to kill them. All three empires agreed upon the same policy and worked together to carry it out. The other reason, for killing  them, was that the more such minions, that the GreatEnemy had, the more powerful he became. The more we killed, the weaker the GreatEnemy became."

Sharry frowned. "Yet you were losing or so is my guess."

Jackman frowned back. "Too late did we realise that the GreatEnemy had another source of power but never did manage to fully discover just what that was. Our world had been at war for centuries and a few said that a residue of unresolved evil had supplied the GreatEnemy. Others spoke of a truly ancient, malignant, anticivilisation of the Dharthfrofth Empire of Empires that had been destroyed over 3,000 years ago but from which dark remains still could be found. I don't suppose we will ever find out the truth. You bluffed me, didn't you?"

Sharry smiled. "Yes but, from now on, please be more honest. What were the other two empires?"

Jackman shrugged. "The Cyborgman Dominatus and the Commonolis Claimanttant. Sometimes I think that those in leadership, of the three empires, kept the wars going so that they could more easily remain in control except that vital resources were becoming increasingly scarce. The world, I come from, it is simply called the Everwarworld. I have never thought too deeply about my past, or my former world, so it may be time to do both."

[20.9][0074] Based in Gaiamary as linked to Safeumary (Direct continuation of the story post before this one)

Jackman looked around himself, at the large garden in its own domechamber inclusive of a fake, but amazingly realistic, sky. Grass, trees, bushes, insects, birds, sheep, horses, some pigs happily wallowing in mud, and even such a podumals growing fleshpods on their sides. With him was his second in command, Jillman, who was also both his second cousin and his wife.

He sighed. "This is Gaiamary!"

Sharry, who had Gavag with her, responded. "A small part of it. These realms evolve, and change, on their own and are nearly always expanding internally if not externally."

Jillman spoke. "So you are Seekaplayers and your role, as Gaiaregainers, is a false one."

Sharry shook her head. "We are really Gaiaregainers for we have deep faith in its cause to help create a newer, better, world from the old. There is the Gaiaregain Campaign of which the Gaiareclaim Program is the start of. You can spend some time, here, if you wish! Time passes faster here than it does outside. There is a realm called Safeumary that would welcome peoples needing to getaway from Doomsworld. One can be active both there and here at the same time; do not ask me how that works for I have no idea though I did read somewhere a theory about the dividing of, and duel allocation of, microseconds."

Jackman nodded. "We need a break! Jillman, you take your turn first with half our people."

Jillman scowled softly. "So you can spend more time with this Sharry woman with out me being there."

Sharry arched her eyebrows. "I am married to this wonderful man, here, named Gavag."

Jillman studied Gavag and then shook her head. "Not much of a man." Then she froze as a nimbus of yellow white energies surrounded her.

Jackman sighed. "Jillman misses our homeworld, our fatherland, and her domineering father that she is devoted to but she only started to get very bad about a year ago after she vanished, mysteriously, and was found shortly after."

Sharry shook her. "That is not Jillman and the body is a clone but you suspected that something of that nature had taken place. The false Jillman will be quarantined, very securely, and perhaps answers can be found by examining her deeply. I suspect that her clone body was poorly made, has been breaking down, and that has been effecting her personality. Who told you to come here, to bring the fake Jillman, so as to meet us Seekaplayers?"

Jackman smiled. "We have built a special place for her, in Shipscity, the giant floating baby who often has with her her at least one of her pet seaserpents, her dragons and a few others including those not perceivable. No insult to the other Seekaplayers but we came to meet you SQuins. We Reregulators have been investigating a spate of abductions, replacements by clones, taking place through out the eastern areas of DC."

Sharry frowned. "How many of the vanished-replaced have been women?"

Jackman frowned right back. "Women but always with a hard, even dark, streak to their nature."

[21.1][0075] Based in Seekamary as linked to the Seekabaseship.

The transformation began as Gaiamary shifted, with Gaiapocket at its core, to be at the outskirts of Safeumary. Replacing it was Seekamary with the Seekabaseship being based there. The Reregulators ended up taking rest and recreation breaks in Seekamary.

Jackman showed up holding his new, small, daughter Joygirl comfortably in his arms. She had been the short term clone replacement for the abducted Jillman, that is if she had been taken against her will. She was sleeping as she often did so as her body grew slowly-steadily stronger in Seekamary.

In the creation of Seekamary, resources had been transferred from Safeumary and the source, of other resources, was a mystery.

Jackman was frowning. "Just got word in from our people in Fivetowertown. It has been coming for a long time but an official splintering has taken place between the Settlers Centralist Coalition and the Settlers Federalist League, the two big factions in the USUDC! The SCC has its power focused mainly in Fivetowertown while the SFL has greater influence across most of the other settlements and is based mainly in Shipscity."

Shendy turned to him from the holographic map table that showed DC as centered on WashingtonDC. "We have been speaking with people, here in Cratertown, including those passing through and refugees from the north. Word is that the SCC will become quickly isolated and will even have to fight for its control of Fivetowertown. Well, that is the common view. A small group, known as the Vaners, as centered on the Vaners Journal,  have come to the conclusion that the real plans, of the SCC, are more subtle, and treacherous, than just taking over one settlement. There have been whispers of hidden activity below the five towers and in the great substructure that links all five towers there."

Fivetowertown had a rather strange past and its origin was unclear. Conspiracy theorists had spoken of it as being an escape hole for elites and those serving them as protected by a great energy dome, physical dome, combination. It was not known, for sure, if the domes had worked to secure the settlement, or not, on Doomsday but it was in very good shape afterwards; this was especially true when contrasted with areas that were left totally devastated. Yet there were lingering stories often hinting at the supernatural.

Jackman snorted. "My people are departing from Fivetowertown along with a large convoy given grace to do so by the SCC. The nearest USUDC settlement, as you probably know, is here at Cratertown. It needs to be expanded and one way is the old bunker."

That was now just an old US Army style bunker.

Shendy nodded. "The Gaiaregainers are now working on that bunker but they will remain based, in Cratertown, in the Cratercompound."

A soft shivering went through everything, lasting only a second or two. Shendy shook her head in wonder. "Powerful celestial forces are at work but why, for what reason, we SQuins do not know. Sanctumary, Safeumary, Smartumary, Gaiamary, Gameutary and Hubutary but now also Seekamary. So what next? The changing of the Transrealms appears to be part of preparations but for what?"

[21.3][0076] Based in Seekamary as linked to the Seekabaseship.

Shorey made her way along the spiral rampway, as semienclosed as it was, as rain came pattering down through the partly open dome. The water had come in from the Atlantic Ocean and was healthy enough to use. The big big crater was the governmental, commercial and industrial plus miscellaneous part of Cratertown.  She passed a bookshop, a tailors, a market garden outlet, the new Sisterhood of Compassion Outpost, a gunshop that sold more than just guns, and then she entered the Brass Diner.

The Reregulators had been rounding up suspects linked to the abducting of strangers and their ending up in the Cratercompound. Now that victims had often been 'returning from death' and had borne witness against suspects, the court cases had been increased in speed. An increasing number of Cratertowners had been convicted and sentenced to death or long sentences of heavy convict labour though most would suffer lesser punishments. Yet the majority, of townsfolk, had not been involved in the crimes or had even known that they were taking place.

In a corner was a group of Vaners drinking coffee, tea or other beverages. Shorey sat with them and before anybody there could say anything she placed onto the tabletop a copy of Brownlins' Postdoomsday WastelandsDC Atlas Edition 12. "A gift from the Gaiaregainers in hope that you will use it well as a resource as you will this." She passed over a copy of Professor Brown's notebook but then a thick notebook.

A tall, thin, almost angular, woman frowned. "Do you know we Vaners are not to be taken too seriously and neither is our publication the Vaners Journal."

Shorey smiled. "Doctor Anne Vaner herself, granddaughter to the Predoomsday Doctor Vaner who brought out the very first issue of Vaners Journal. From the start you all have pretended to be a satirical publication but at core you have always been quite the opposite. Your ancestors survived Doomsday in Fivetowertown, or at least in a bunker at its outskirts."

Doctor Vaner sighed. "And in exchange you want?"

Shorey smiled. "For you to keep on going strong. We have already used your published information at least once and hope to do so again. Do you know that a large convoy is coming to here from Fivetowertown being made up of those opposed to the SCC. You suspect that amongst its people may be infiltrators. Well, speaking of such matters, here in the Brass Diner, may not be too wise so I offer to pay for more beverages and also food. Your available resources do not seem to be abundant so from now on you will be supported by the same source that funds us Gaiaregainers for that is what they have chosen; we will also assist you while not expecting any bias from you in your articles to come."

Shorey pushed a fairly thick envelope across to the doctor of philosophy. "$500 in good quality EIDs being mostly in smaller denominations. We hope that you will write an article on us, the Gaiaregainers, and will provide you with our own limited knowledge. For we, who came to the surface, did so with only basic knowledge of our deep underground homeland; it was planned that way."

Shorey paid for lunch before passing over a box full of other types of Wastelands acceptable currencies. She, herself, drank some coffee and had poached eggs on toast with a side order of mushrooms.
