Maharg67
[6.1][0023] Highschool! What Highschool? There is no Highschool! The Seekaplayers found that the area, formerly transformed to Happyland, was now reverted to what it had been when they had first found it. They gathered up resources and sent some of them to Safeumary being multiplied by three and the rest to Sanctumary being, this time, multiplied by a whopping 27. The transdimensional relationship had changed, somehow, and from then on the multiplications, of sent goods, would always be the same; that is going to those places from that gameworld. As for the special items asked for the only ones found, and sent, were 100 bottles of AtomicCola Super that became 2,700 of the same. Sanctumary wanted sent as much as was possible given the imposed limitations on such sendings by the gameworld's game rules. Shandy frowned hard, especially for one of the SQuins. "The special items asked for, or at least some of them, are most odd! What would Sanctumary want with such as three, dangerous, types of GMI or powerful forms of truth serum or miniature nukes or prototype production UVLs, ultraviolet lasers?" They had gone over the list, again, that was mainly filled with more standard kinds of item to supply to Sanctumary. About five of the items were most exotic and unique, at least on the gameworld. Later, after further seeking of items and more 'clues' to an unclear mystery, they came upon one of the latter. Another message, scrawled in dried-preserved blood, on a wall read. 'Highschool! What highschool? There is no highschool!' Shimmy frowned. "What is it about this place that these messages are all written in blood? More importantly, I suppose, is the real meaning of that message." Machomuch frowned with his powerful, over muscular, body crouched with a powerful gattlinglaser. "What with all the blood that was spilled in this place, there would be plenty to spare to do writing with. What if this place is not really a highschool at all though most here were tricked into thinking that it was?" Shimmy gave him a kiss and K9herois was a bit jealous about this so earned a reassuring kiss from his most beloved SQuin for he loved all of them. Machomuch, the big macho man, blushed! Maharg67
[6.2][0024] Highschool! What Highschool? There is no Highschool! (Direct continuation of post before this one) They took one of the before hidden devices out of its box and clamped the teleportation sender-booster to a blank area of wall in an obscure looking highschool chamber of a largely bare caretakers' space. They took one of the teleport beacons and placed that on a fairly large, bare, area of floor in the same chamber. Then the device, on the wall, was activated. With a soft sparkling shimmer an area of wall vanished only to rematerialise on the bare floor, destroying the one use beacon as it did so. The more sophisticated unit was reclaimed to be used again but it would need to be recharged. They had found, again, the line of vending machines against one wall and a clue from the commercial titles on those mechanisms and the order that they were there. This had given them coordinates to the caretakers' utility chamber and the one obviously bare wall. A piece of paper, full of scrawled notes on one side, was deciphered to indicate what had to be done to discover a secret; it also came with a warning of danger ahead. The great chamber, beyond, was of VaultTech design and build. On one wall was a large sign indicating that they were in Techcomplex123DC and so it was proven true that the highschool was a fake buried inside that underground complex. OneThreeMany had had been mistaken but it seemed so was everybody else, in the 'highschool' that they had met. All the records, that they had gained access to, had supported the very sophisticated, clever, facade. Deepsleepcapsules lined both walls being not just for humans or even humanoids. Records were not coded, in that great stretched out space, and it was revealed that there were clones of staff, students and others meant to function in the false highschool. There were dogs and not just those of the HTS, Heavy Tactical Security, but a range of what seemed like pets and experimental subjects. There were also rabbits, rats, cats, goats along with insects, plants and even fungi. Apart from the humans there were Robocops, other types of cyborg and androids. Then there was a change as that collection, of capsules, ended and another began after a wide gap. It was an army of cyborgmans, as the labels called them, being a mixture of guards, soldiers, workers, servers and specialists. How they were related, to the fake highschool, was not declared there but somehow it was linked to that 'institution' or so the Steelplayers decided. There were also cyborgdogs, cyborgcats, and other animals of which some looked like normal animals and some were clearly cyborgs; the same was true for the cyborgmans and it became clear some of the cyborgs were infiltrators, observers and perhaps even raiders. Amongst the oddest were cyborgplants including cyborgtrees. They moved on to more discoveries, some of them being of disturbing nature. Maharg67
[6.3][0025] Highschool! What Highschool? There is no Highschool! (Direct continuation of post before this one) Twisted mutants had been basically cyborged, marked as 'expendable' and placed in deepsleepcapsules. At least they suffered no pain while they were in them. Then there were other, poor, results of experiments that were in their own deepsleepcapsules; why these had been kept was not clearly stated except vague references to 'genetic material resources'. So it was that they activated three medium wishlings and two minor ones and on top of the result of using those came a great flash of yellow-white energies. Then it was gone and they all felt better including the elementals Airius and Electria along with the androids Gunslingerjo plus TechiSue. The adapted deepsleepcapsules were full of people as humans in their gear including SWATs, others in light armour bodysuits plus body-armoured dogs. With them were androids and robots. They began to come out of deepsleep with out the grogginess normal to such actions. Leaving the deepsleepcapsules behind it soon became evident that they belong to the Predoomsday XAISA, the Xenofiles Archival Investigations Security Agency being pronounced as two syllables 'XA' then 'ISA'. How they ended up in the deepsleepcapsules was a mystery even to them. One Captain Diana Sculder spoke to the Seekaplayers. "We were cornered by overwhelming enemy forces, were being killed off though we took many of them with us, and then there was a flash of yellow-white light. That is the last that I remember." Sharry responded. "Yes, like the incident that happened just before now." So she described what had taken place. After that was an exchange of information focused firstly on that fake highschool buried inside a deep underground Teknaplex. The XAISA had been tasked with tracking down, and putting an end to, highly illegal experimental projects. They had been assisted, in finding about the truth behind Teknacomplex123DC as a supposedly legal, beneficial, medical research and development site. They had a working front that had discovered a few, beneficial, medicines as the Medicaretech Corporation being a noted daughter corporation of Teknacorp. The Seekaplayers had gone through most of the fake highschool but there were sections yet to be investigated. Not had all of the cyborgs and mutants gone through to a better life in Safeumary but so had a few others that had materialised with them in that place, some being of a most curious nature. Yet they had all come from the history of the fake highschool. They sent out search parties to investigate chambers around that one. They found ones that had been filled with resources for the Cyborggins, their official name, but now held those for the XAISA; how the truth came to them was in the form of a message chalked on a blackboard. They found the medical research facilities that were all neatly packed up and abandoned. So were the areas around them, that serve-supported them in various ways including dormitories, relaxation lounges and even SVRcapsules, super virtual reality capsules. Even if anything had been taken away it seemed to have respawned. There were big storerooms full of one shot medicants like stimpaks and also medikits. There were also supplies of an odd medicant that was marked with an amber skull meaning it was only to be used, as an antidote, as a last resort; it was not clear just why it had been developed. All, of the contents, were sent to both Sanctumary and Safeumary. While the majority, of the XAISA people settled down to turning the area into their new homebase, some few went with the Seekaplayers into a heavily sealed off area but only with some difficulty. Maharg67
[6.4][0026] Highschool! What Highschool? There is no Highschool! (Direct continuation of the story post before this one) It became a matter of 'restarting' in a fashion of going over clues, over past actions since first arriving in what the Steelplayers assumed was a real highschool most likely based on a real one that did once have a terrible reputation. Sharry remembered that she had spoken of their first destination as being the dometown of Cratertown but of the first team materialising in an 'abandoned, largely destroyed, US Army bunker. Had the team actually done so? Was the techcomplex the end of the deception? What had come with the first, only, materialised cubecanister? 10 special items consisted of two notepadcomps (notepad computers) holding extensive data, two teleport beacons, two minireplicators, two regenerators and two hidden in small boxes. The notepadcomps' data had proven to be generally very useful. One teleport beacon had been used already but destroyed in the process. The minireplicators so far had not been useful or used and the same was true of the small regenerators. One, secretive, box had revealed a special teleportation device that was revealed before being recovered to be recharged. There was a sparkling shimmer and the destroyed teleport beacon was replaced. Then another cubecanister materialised, being of the same dimensions as the first. It held the same 10 items as the first except that the notepadcomps held different sets of data and the concealing boxes were noted to have different items in them from the original two. Additional were two more teleport beacons, two multifunctional sets of nanobots, two odd type DTDs (Detection Tracking Devices), two computer hacking boosting devices and yet another two mystery boxes. This cubecanister had less room for general type equipment and supplies so carried less of it. The two cubecanisters went into the Steelplayers' hidden transdimensional group inventory. Now with five, upgraded, eyebots moving with them and sometimes ahead of the main team, they went over old ground. Why, because Sharry, Shendy and Shimmy deepsensed that it needed to be done. The use, of one of the new DTDs, led to the discovery of a very well hidden floor slidehatch in the same large chamber as the many vending machines. They floated down using hidden, or obvious abilities as the spybots , and ended up in a great, reinforced, concrete chamber. They were in a long abandoned bunker but in an area that showed only moderate damage. Warmachines, robots, power armour that sometimes had skeletal remains inside them, and other technologies were from the Second American Civil War. Presidents Oblama and Thumpem had led the two sides against one another only to be both defeated by a third force that had arisen to end the conflict and to their rule; both men had ended up in hard security prisons of mild luxurious living. They found the chambers of mutagel tanks, other processing chambers and long dead experimental subjects. There were barracks, training areas, storage depots, more dubious research sites, armouries, general storerooms, civil dormitories, VIP apartments, and much else including more signs of savage fighting having taken place. They found what had happened to those who had left the Techcomplex as long dead remains behind hastily thrown up barricades. They had even used some bunker weapons to help defend themselves. The DTD went humming mad just before the first of the wraiths came swarming through a concrete wall, causing some of it to crumble away as they did so. The team, including the spybots, began to shoot UVLs (UV lasers) at the hatred filled, maniacal, entities that seemed to be the surviving essences of people who had died horribly in a range of ways. Or so the three SQuins deepsensed. Killing off the entities was merciful. To be killed by one of them, well if one was lucky one would just die but if unlucky one would become one of them. The Seekaplayers, though not with that identity, had dealt with such entities before on other, much devastated, worlds. On and on the fighting went on with the wraiths coming in increasing numbers only to be mercifully destroyed. Edited May 21 by Maharg67 To show that this story has been edited from the start. Maharg67
[6.5][0027] Highschool! What Highschool? There is no Highschool! (Direct continuation of the story post before this one) The XAISA people, there, fought hard against the wraiths along side the Seekaplayers and then a most exotic form of reinforcements arrived. They came as determined, sometimes angry, ghosts that as soldiers, and civilians, began a strange battle with the wraiths. At first it seemed that the more powerful wraiths might win but the ghosts' number grew so much that they overwhelmed their enemy and began to destroy them. Shendy spoke with an odd tone of voice. "The ghosts are carrying out an act of mercy to end the misery of the malignant wraiths. They, themselves, once did bad things and now sacrifice themselves so as to redeem themselves as well as to rescue those trapped by being wraiths. It is a most curious situation." Shimmy crouched and hugged K9herois to herself as if seeking his comfort but only the cyborg canine was fooled by this act as the other Seekaplayers knew that K9herois had been agitated by what was going on. Still, by the way he buried his head into her arms, perhaps he was not so blind at all to how much he needed Shimmy's comfort. Then the bizarre battle was over! XAISA's Sculder spoke from where she wore her own body armour suit. "Before Doomsday XAISA gained reported, amongst the tide of information that we were taking in that needed the assistance of supercomputers even to start to sort it out at a basic level, of wraiths being encountered in the ancient, underground, ruins of a cursed anticivilisation. Yes, it was so bad that other peoples, back then, named it as being so. Details were few but what came through was the fanatical worship of a truly terrible, very alien, entity that they named as the Chaoticostic Goddess of Gods. The people were named the Chaotikka and they were driven to carry out evil acts by the unholy Chaoticostica that included more than the Chaoticostic Goddess and Gods. Such wraiths, as we just encountered, were very much linked to them." The secret temple was found that was devoted to the worship of the Chaoticostic Goddess of Gods. Proof was found that those, in the bunker, did not serve either side in ACW2 but were either followers or those who served them in different ways. There had been the intention to create a new empire in the war torn USA with its two regional governments fighting each other as founded by President Lincoln at the end of ACW1. The temple gave disappointingly little information away as if it had been designed that way. The XAISA people were not surprised by this as they spoke of it as being an 'outpost temple' of the kind that they, and others, had been investigating ever since the famous Indiana Jones had found the first one as discovered by Europeans but not by other humans or other humanoids. A great flash of yellow-white energies swept through everybody and everything. Edited May 21 by Maharg67 To show that this story has been edited from the start. Maharg67
[7.1][0028] Taking Stock, Resting and Working Things Out in Safeumary! The highschool, the techcomplex and base had all been a creation of a force that had diverted Seekaplayers to go into that zone instead of the actual location that they should have reached! Nearly all was now changed and transferred to Safeumary. Though not all of the dead had returned to life, most had done so. This included wraiths, ghosts, those left behind as skeletal remains and even others found in morgues that the Steelplayers had not reached. Stanley, the cyborg gorilla, was eating a grapefruit cupcake! All five SQuins were mingled amongst all of the other Seekaplayers but not just them. The XAISA now viewed Safeumary as their homeland and the site of their homebase. K9herois was sleeping with his head in Shimmy's lap after the way the wraiths had proven so disturbing to him or was that the whole reason? XAISA's Foxulder, who was both the associate and husband of Sculder, spoke from where he sat on a cushionchair on the ground beneath a great, shady, tree. "So, the may be another XAISA group out there." Shorey smiled sweetly, of course. "There is a subtle sense that this will not be the case or at least one that we SQuins share." The 'voice' seemed to speak from many places, directions, at once. "I am your gaming patron-benefactor!" It was hard to define the gender, accent if any, and other features of the voice. "I found that I was aware of what you were doing but could only help you in limited ways. My contribution was two cubecanisters, their contents and one extra teleport beacon. I had nothing to do with the flashes of yellow-white energies and do not know of who-what diverted you to the false gameworld zone you were in. Why was it done or is there just one answer to such a question? It could have been done by illegal game modding but it seems it was much deeper an influence than that. The special contents, of the cubecanisters, have been altered in some cases but not in any obvious fashion. I must go as even my communicating with you like this is bending the gameworld rules. Oh, yes, count your current special game resources!" Then the voice was gone silent! OneThreeMany was floating blissfully in a big, inflated, transparent, above ground, swimming pool made of extremely tough, self repairing, smartmaterial. "Me-myself-I thinks that voice may have spoken from Sanctumary or through there from another." Sharry nodded. "Yes, we SQuins had the same impression oh adorable sweetie!" OneThreeMany beamed happily! Gunclawdus, a smallish deathclaw based cyborg, stretched and yawned before speaking. "What are our current special game resources?" Shendy responded. "One major wishling, two mediate wishlings, three minor wishlings and four subwishlings. The same pattern, and number, goes with our lucklings, randomlings, chancelings, cluelings, supplylings, travellings, renewlings, heallings and tricklings. Other 'gamelings' will come to us in future including new types of them. Most of these are new to us. We have gamecredit of 100, and tradecredit of 10,000, to spend along with 100 game-vouchers being 10 major, 20 mediate, 30 minor and 40 lesser ones. The way these resources work is not so straight forward and we will have to learn to do so, most likely out of real experience." Shorey added. "We also have $100,000 in the form of EIDs, prizecaps, vending machine vouchers, winning lottery tickets, advanced casino tokens and some WastelandsDC currencies being the most dependable. We also have items that can be used more directly or as tradegoods. All of this is in what is now called our Team Group Inventory. Items will be transferred into Team Individual Inventories. Sounds like a good deal but we will just have to be careful how we use it, anyway." From where they where, they could see out over a small sea where fishing boats sailed and whales swam along with dolphins plus a whole lot of other lifeforms. Gavag sighed. "I confess that I was sent as an infiltrator into the Steelplayers but wish now to refute that role." Sharry smiled. "We SQuins knew that from the start but we also knew that you had been pressured, against your will, into that role. We can not tell you how we gained that information because we, frankly speaking, do not know. Other than ourselves, all of you were chosen with the desire to see you assist in the failure of the Steelplayers but you all have done very well despite that nastiness!" Sculder spoke. "You SQuins bring out the best in others but of all the deep mysteries we are facing, I suspect that you are one of them." The SQuins all beamed with big, sweet, innocent smiles but did not make any attempt to refute Scully's words. A flight of dragons flew overhead, looking small in the distance, but they were not! Maharg67
[7.2][0029] Taking Stock, Resting and Working Things Out in Safeumary! (Direct continuation of the story post before this one) Some Seekaplayers, XAISA Agents and others went through an 4SVR program scenario of the fake highschool and techcomplex plus cultist bunker. Created by the flash of yellow-white energies, the Super Sensory Stimulation Simulation Virtual Reality environment was amazing accurate; indeed it was chillingly so in many places. Those, in the scenario, were truthfully in 4SVR Exocapsules that not only cared for their bodies but kept them fit. The taskteam visited large, freezing cold, mortuaries where multiple bodies were stored in slide in-out corpse capsules. Thanks to advanced instruments, being available, autopsies seemed to have been only rarely carried out. Rows, of heavily white padded cells, each housed an individual human in an advanced constraint suit being both more secure and freer to move in than old fashioned straight jackets. Despite this, data records found at wall terminals testified that many patients had managed to kill themselves. A large, gorgeous, indoor gardens park showed giant carnivore plants slowly consuming dead human bodies, secretive grottoes where sex orgies took place, normal lawn picnics being held while students played baseball or ran egg-spoon races though many were seminaked or naked. They were at that picnic area of grassy clearings within a light spread forest. Shendy spoke. "All the students, of the fake highschool, have been seen to be at least 16 years old but of maturity of appearance suggesting that the youngest is at least 18 years old." Sharry frowned softly. "Perhaps they were, still are in Safeumary if they are there, clones of some kind having gone through some kind of fast aging process. Neither the staff, or students, seemed to know such details though now all are convinced that they were created as clones based largely on real people; a few state they have the impression that their characters were produced from scratch." Gavag was eating a roast chicken drumstick that a student had given him. It tasted good, but not great, as he had attested having come from a domestic training class. Then he dropped the bone into a handy, robotic, rubbish bin that had come trundling to him. "The chicken was reasonably well cooked but the various drugs took the edge of its flavour. Of course they are having no effect thanks to my nature and the 4SVR program itself." Shimmy scratched K9herois behind an ear and asked what seemed to be a rhetorical question. "Why recreate what we experienced with such amazing accuracy?" DocSmith spoke as a sophisticated android being in a 1850s style scifi outfit complete with transparent bubblehelmet. He even had a rather bulbous looking raygun holstered at his side looking like the one that NukaGirl carried along with other, related, NukaCharacters. "Perhaps it was not a rationally driven process of creation when it came to the original but I suspect that this recreation was so even if it was carried out by a very mysterious force." Sculder whirled and pointed to a crazed, young, man running half nakedly across the same large area of lawn that they were on. She went for her electric shockgun that fired two, wire trailing, darts but then part, of the lawn, opened up just long enough for the human clone to vanish away below. His cry, of surprise, was quickly shut off by the closing hatch. Or at least they took it to be one. Shendy spoke. "Highschool administrative datafiles mentioned unexplained vanishings of mostly students though general staff sometimes suffered the same fate. Yet the school authorities made no real effort to find the missing and seemingly tried to dissuade others from doing so. Apparently even the headmasters, who had extreme autocratic power, were intimidated by some unnamed 'faction' of some kind. Each headmaster had five, highly trained and experienced, bodyguards along with plenty of other security including guards, robots and turrets but most of them were paranoid anyway. There was just the one headmistress and she was wary but not paranoid. She vanished during the Troubling Night and Two Days that there are very few references to." Investigations found no hatch and a thick layer of solid ground below where the young man had vanished. Edited May 17 by Maharg67 To show that this story has been edited from the start. Maharg67
[7.3][0030] Taking Stock, Resting and Working Things Out in Safeumary! (Direct continuation of the story post before this one) The Seekaplayers did training including team exercises. 3Seepio, and Batmanbot, became part of the new Steelservers who would support, in future, the Seekaplayers while remaining in Safeumary. Apart from the two robots many others joined the group. Now there were two vacancies in the Seekaplayers Team. The Seekaplayers Complex was expanded and diversified. The SQuins spent 50 gamecredit on Safeumary and the powerful, practical, currency meant that much was changed for the better, of that place, but in a structural and network sense; that is the very structural fabric of Safeumary was strengthened and the service-support networks were extended and upgraded. Networks were transportation, electrical supply, water supply, sewerage, water drainage, ventilation for underground facilities, emergency response, security, police, and others including specials. The SQuins spent time, in a inward facing circle, holding hands as they went into a type of deep, group, meditation. Other Seekaplayers gathered around them protectively except for 3Seepio, and Batmanbot, who were at the special education training centre as it had evolved int. Over the next month, or so, they would go into such meditations five more times. They were always vague about just why they were doing such, what they were doing and what they were achieving. It turned out that the 'Gameworldgame' had not even truly begun for the Seekaplayers or even other Playerteams; this revelation begged more questions than it answered!
