If you watch(ed) Buffy The Vampire Slayer you may remember that Giles says he likes books because they are 'smelly'... I think I prefer books on paper. To return to topic - you're right about any stretching! I use some exercises for playing the flute. Doesn't make me play any better though come to think of it... sigh... Pagafyr
I often find myself entranced by a well written story in books. DUNE. All three of them. I saw the television version of DUNE too. It was six hours covering every book. Dune: With William Hurt, Alec Newman, Saskiia Reeves, James Watson, was done so close to what the books described I was among the many who were thrilled about it. Seemed in that generation we were all real focused on movies being worthy of the authors book. Now if I see a movie poster that interests me; I go see the movie first, because today the movies seem to be a short synopsis of the book. If I liked the movie synopsis then I will get the book. zixi
Hmmm I don't go to the cinema at all. We're still isolating because of my dodgy immune system. We watch everything on DVD and I'm awfully fussy... We've just finished Indiana Jones (again) and we're about to do Star Wars (again) we saw them out of order last year so we thought we'd watch them in sequence... Films (movies) usually disappoint me because they do something to the book I don't like. The exceptions have been a version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice which was done years ago by the BBC (they and I don't get on now but I still think their version was brilliant); Name of the Rose (with Sean Connery playing the lead - he is perfect in that part) and actually more recently they had a pretty good stab at The Hunger Games but oh do I hate what they've done to some other books! I don't read that many novels any more though - it's mostly history at the moment since I gave up being a computer scientist. But do you prefer to read on screen? I like turning pages... physical pages... and flipping back and forward, to and fro... and putting my bookmark in a place while I look at some other part of the book... you can't do that so easily on a virtual book... I also like old copies of books with other people's names in. Especially the ones that say: To Elspeth with love from Jacques, Christmas 1914. 7531Leonidas
Hey, Zixi - have you ever sought out older B&W stuff on DVD? There's a lot of stuff still available.

I absolutely adore old horror films. I mean ones like The Mummy series in B&W... with Boris Karloff... you can guess what will happen in the first 3 seconds and the acting is often dire but somehow that doesn't matter... But we haven't gone out of our way to get them. We bought a whole load of early Avengers with Diana Rigg because I think she''s wonderful but those were when it had moved to colour. We don't watch TV together at all. I've been boycotting one particular channel for years now; and adverts drive me to distraction so, I don't watch TV; that way I'm not annoyed by any inanity! We buy as DVD anything we'll watch together. My husband watches TV occasionally. He likes martial arts and the Tour de France... It wouldn't make sense to me to watch things like that. I'd either do them or not - I wouldn't watch someone else doing them... I'm not very good at sitting still in any case...
Lisnpuppy
It's the middle, pointer finger and thumb and the impingement is in the nerves in your wrist. If you have numbness on the pinky finger and ring finger it is an impingement in the elbow. My husband works in Workers Comp claims and I worked for years in medical payments claims so we learn alot! lol
Pagafyr
I went to the theater to see lastest Indiana Jones. A year ago I went to see something else. During both the movies young people got up and walked in front so it ruined the movie flow. I haven't been back since. Ah! That explains the occasional tingle in the little finger and no ring finger on the other hand.

I bet I know something my husband doesn't know and I shall now parade my knowledge! To go back to topic - honestly, look after all the joints. Strengthen muscle. It'll stand you in good stead as the years roll by!
