There is an actual medical condition that makes people with it hairy AF. It's known as "Werewolf Syndrome" - hypertrichosis

Yeah! I read about it too. It's kinda weird and scary. Maybe that's the disease that spread waaay back then and cannot be treated so the doctors and people assumed that they are werewolves to make life easier to understand. lol
