stoolzo Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 please be gentle - noob. I just installed Vortex to install the Jedi fallen order mod. I added the game but accidentally chose the wrong game path as: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order After reviewing the videos it states this path has to be where the game exe is located which is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64 If I click "manually select location" and browse to this it doesnt change, it just stays with the original incorrect path. I tried removing the game and wiping the profile but now each time to comes up with this wrong path, any idea why cant I change this?
Staff insomnious Posted January 8, 2024 Staff Posted January 8, 2024 Hi @stoolzo The path you've already chosen should be fine. Have you tried to install a mod & make sure it works in game ? Regards, insomnious
stoolzo Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 I gave up on it, I tried, it just didnt work. Then someone told me on the UEVR discord forum to just copy the fpv pak file into the mod folder, and that didnt work either. I'll try it again using vortex then.
stoolzo Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 I dont think thats right, when I click open mods folder it takes me to the route jedi folder, there must be a reason you have to set the correct path surely?
stoolzo Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 i've installed the mod, will try it anywhere a bit later when i'm home from work, cheers. Have you tried this with UEVR yet, its supposed to be fantastic in VR, albeit bit buggy right now.
Community Manager Solution Pickysaurus Posted January 10, 2024 Community Manager Solution Posted January 10, 2024 Your game is installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order - Vortex targets the game install folder, not the location the EXE file happens to be in. If you do not see any problems with installing mods or starting the game, you can ignore this.
stoolzo Posted January 10, 2024 Author Posted January 10, 2024 ok, thats fine but it still didnt work, even though it installed the mod in the correct folder, the mod just didnt worked. I had to use this instead which worked fine with you mod. Releases · RussellJerome/FallenOrderModLoader (github.com)
Community Manager Pickysaurus Posted January 10, 2024 Community Manager Posted January 10, 2024 I'm not sure you actually provided a link to the mod you were trying to install at any point. I've not made any changes to the JFO extension since I released it and had no reports of it working improperly. Although I've moved on from player this game a while ago now.
