Dark0ne
Hi folks, Recently I've been getting a lot of emails from false accounts with @gamingsource.net or @gamingsource.co.uk as their domain. These are absolutely fake and will often contain viruses, no matter how realistic they look. For example today I got one saying: Dear Gamingsource Member, Your e-mail account was used to send a huge amount of unsolicited spam messages during the recent week. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and confirm the attached document so you will not run into any future problems with the online service. If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choice but to cancel your membership. Virtually yours, The Gamingsource Support Team Once again this is COMPLETELY bogus and can easily be done by anyone with a webserver, I could send out emails as [email protected] if I really wanted to. If in doubt about whether I have actually emailed you (I don't email people from the forums, but still...) send me a PM on the forums. I will then confirm the issue. Thanks. Stampede
These emails are hilarious. Not wanting to take away from the severity that should be directed at the sender, but to think of how incredibly lonely someone must be to devote their time to a task like this. And honestly, kudos to anyone who reports them here, because if you open anything attached to them you need to spend another year at the institute of learning that is internet skool. VaanicOne
Ugh, when will this end? As if we haven't got enough problems already! Have you informed the official forums, just to be on the safe side?
Adras
Now is this also why there are now ads where the browsing links were on the main page? I tell you, there are so many immature people that just feel like they need to disrupt the lives of others just for kicks. Just plain annoying.
