7531Leonidas
You could take a look at Guru 3d - they have a lot of reviews up on both discrete and built-in graphics stuff... Of course, it won't be completely applicable to your particular setup, but might give you an idea on the performance changes/deltas.
zixi
I have no idea if you've bought a great system or not. However, the psychology of it is if you think performance will be below a PC you may well be pleasantly surprised. If you concentrate on its being a compromise then you'll stay happy. Otherwise discontent will wind its way towards you. And thereafter the dark side is not far behind. It sounds really great from where I'm sitting! Like you I prefer a huge great box on my desk. But at times I've had to compromise because of circumstances - ie cancer treatment meant I was frequently too ill to make it to the desk so used an ipad. I played BG 1&2 on it and it was fun - a different experience from a desktop BG and I was seriously happy with it. I strongly urge looking on the bright side and it will bring you nothing but joy! After the trip you'll still have a laptop and who knows what you'll do with it. I used my iPad for doing the grocery shopping whilst watching a film in the evening. I went back to the PC for gaming... But I still think it was a really good decision at the time. Actually, it was my husband's suggestion. He it got it right! Congrats on the purchase.

I dont know much about gmaing laptops and hadnt really read any reviews. Now after I bought it , I am reading reviews and they seem universally positive . That gives me time to donwload FO4 with all the mods I like. Sadly the display is not 4 k, but some compromises had to be made to keep the price from going too crazy, so I will DL the 2k HD pack from Luxor instead of the 4k HD pack I have on my desktop. MSI GE Series Raider GE78HX 14VIG-600US 17.0" 240 Hz IPS Intel Core i9 14th Gen 14900HX (2.20GHz) NVIDIA GeForce RTX ... I have no illusions that a laptop 4090 is going to be anywhere close to a desktop 4090, but I still decided in the end to go with one anyway because I wanted some room to spare and i hope for desktop 4080 level of performance from this 4090 laptop. (not sure if that is realistic) Still a bit pricey.... but, it's a laptop, with top of the line hardware. Screen is 2K native, so I don't think you will have an issue with graphical fidelity. Should run the game for ya just fine. Should run just about ANY game for ya just fine...... MSI quality/reliability is hit and miss though. We used to sell some MSI gaming laptops at work, but, we had too many of them come back with issues within the first year.... so, we quit stocking them.. Of course, there were also those that we sold, and never saw again. Lets hope yours lasts you a good long time.

I don't remember the last time I owned a vehicle that was built in the same decade that I owned it. My current vehicle is 98.... It qualifies as an antique here now. Until 6 months ago I was in a similar boat with vehicles. I owned two older Nissan 4x4 SUVs, with 170,000 (Xterra) and 192000 (Pathfinder) miles respectively. But they were mechnically at 100% and cosmetically at maybe 90-95%. Just sold both for another vehicle a Armada 4x4 "S" (the base)

Then, you just bolt them back on, and keep driving. :D

Thats I all the Nissans I remember for now I am sure there were others.
HeyYou
Don't recall ever actually owning one, but, I did work at the Nissan dealer for a bunch. (Parts department there. I really didn't wanna work on 'em.) Most of what I have owned have been american made. (imagine that, I live in the USA.....) Currently have a 98 Dodge Ram 2500 (3/4 ton truck) 4x4 with an 8.0 liter V-10..... Doesn't need the right tires to push the house off the foundation, pass anything but a gas station. If I break into double digit gas mileage, I feel really lucky....... Yeah, it ain't cheap to drive, but, I can only afford to insure, and maintain, ONE vehicle, so, that one vehicle needs to be able to everything I ask of it. That means occasionally hauling around several tons of dirt/rocks, etc. Fortunately, I don't drive much. If I do 5000 miles in a year, that's a lot. Less need for that kind of work now though. So, been considering replacing it, but, used car prices here are just stupid, and I am not willing to pay platinum pricing for rotten wood products. :D

Hey,I been looking at extra SSDs to drop into my computer. But I am unsure what is compatible. Can you school me a bit or link me a recommendation? For the hassle of upgrading and breaking the warranty seal I think I want to add 4T. I have no idea how to do this, but we have some of the best electronics technicians in the East Coast at my work and I am buddies with some of them so I am confident I can sweet talk one of them to do it (even though many are on the road right now ). I would not want to hassle them with building me an entire computer but this I this would be ok. I think I want to do this now, or at least buy the SSD, before I get to Europe since everyhting is more expensive there. The Local Best Buy seems to have several in stock.
