AngelDeath82
I'm experiencing an odd behaviour in Vortex where it is downloading Extensions for games which I'm not playing, and it will re-download them even if I uninstall and remove them. An example of this is the extension for Stardew Valley. I've uninstalled it, and deleted the download, but when I re-launch Vortex it will re-download and install it on it's own, even though I don't even have the game. Solution showler Posted March 4 Solution Share Posted March 4 Why do people keep thinking this is a problem? Vortex comes packaged with extensions for dozens of games. If it keeps re-downloading and re-installing the extension, that's because it is supposed to be there. It's part of Vortex. The extensions are tiny. Just leave them alone. maelstrom13
As much as this appears to be a no harm issue, the potential for security vulnerabilities can exist in the "it don't matter" files. I'm experiencing the same issue and it isn't a "not a problem" issue because "Stardew Valley" in particular has caused many issues with the need to restart. I've tried to get rid of it because of the number of restarts and it continues to cause issues. If there is a reason why it NEEDS to be there, that is one thing, but the issues caused by that particular extension is the reason I've searched for it to delete it. Now that I can't delete it, I'm looking for actual answers, "Why does it matter" is not an answer, especially when there is an actual issue that causes people to search out answers.
