Fallout in TV

The only thing that is going to change the course of the Institute is you taking control - and in that case that is the same for every faction.

That point is moot - it's what each faction is doing in the game currently.

-------

Consider the quest Synth Retention.

The very thing they want to claim is the result of the Railroad wiping memory is the very thing the Institute has INTENTIONALLY done ad nauseum - Railroad or no Railroad.

It was that quest that triggered the real motive of the Institute.    It wasn't about reclaiming "property", it was my own kin (my son - "The Father") trying to drive a wedge between me and the Railroad.

It really doesn't get any more "evil" than that.    He views me as a "better Kellogg".....

We disagree, but I'm cool with that. Speaking of Father, though, dunno if you played the Nuka Ride quest mod, but it gives additional content and delightful twists to Father (your son). It also makes him a lot more likeable.

In the game concept, 3rd generation synths are not machines. These are artificial people with human DNA, with human intelligence. In fact, in the game they have already gone beyond the control of the institute. They constantly show dissatisfaction and run away. If even one synth gains control of the Institute's security system, the Institute will be finished. Considering that the remnants of humanity have been unable to coexist even with each other for 200 years in a row, all remaining people in America will be exterminated. Arthur Maxson is not paranoid. 😁

It will be a lot of fun to watch ... since Bethesda kept their hands off it ..

It is one Game TV series I actually feel good about .. with who is directing it.

No matter how much sympathy I have for Bethesda needing to monetize the franchise takignna sledgehammer to Canon (NCRs victory in California and the through defeat of the brotherhood omitted (or retconned away) and brotherhood mission NOT being to "bring order to the wasteland" as rhe trailer states)  the series will look great but have little to do with fallout.

The criticism that has been levied by many has clearly not gone unnoticed, so not they have a defeat mechanism for the NCR shown in the latest trailer and the mainstream media bubble has been publishing fluff pieces like this all over:

'A Fool's Errand': Fallout Series Co-Creator Isn't Trying to Please Every Fan (msn.com)

translation: "Every fan " means nearly the entire fandom, the people who put his corporate sponsor into the position to make this series in the first place.

Its been said in this thread that Chris Nolan is a great director who did westworld. Which I remember fondly,.. mostly based on the excellent 1st and decent 2nd season. But now I am thinking, did he direct just the (brilliant) 1st season or the increasing unwatchable follow ons full of subtle and not so subtle "social messages"?

I fear for the worst.

here is also a through discussion on Steam:

Hard to imagine a 3rd party encounter making him more likeable than a 1st person encounter.

I mean when someone is staring you in the face and literally telling you that a)  the Synths are their property, and b) they are the future of mankind - well it's hard not to take away from that encounter that there will be no mankind left with the Institute over time.

It's why they wreak like the BoS - both organizations have bad intentions.

Will probably be worse once you hook up their nuclear reactor to power them independent of the topside.    Then they can completely cut themselves off with the "real humanity" that is trying to recover - while continually trying to undermine them to boot.

Based on console entries it is clear to me that it was "father" who is almost great responsible for the more evil direction the Institute has taken.

He was clearly promoted well beyond his abilities for some reason and this is wreaking havoc on the Institute. Also a form of revenge if you will albeit inadvertent.

With creating Kellog and having no problems with him killing a babies mother in their name ... the institute was rotten to the core long before "father". He just grew up brainwashed with it.
