Vortex "File Busy"

Evening, I que up a few mod downloads for fallout and then boot up the game. Once a download completes, I usually get an error message "Vortex "File Busy" with retry and cancel options which makes sense since I have the game open. I would like to know if I click cancel will the mod be loaded the next time i boot the game or do I need to exit the game and click retry?  I don't mind if the mod doesnt load straight away but loads the next time I play the game.

You shouldn't have the game open when installing mods. If you want to play while it downloads you can turn off the install when the download completes in settings.

Thanks! do I then need to manually install?

Yes, each time a download completes it'll sit in your mod list and wait for you to click on it to install it. You can use multi select to pick several mods at once if required.
