Launching FO4 through F4SE does not use my profile-specific ini settings from MO2

I followed The Midnight Ride to mod FO4.  I additionally installed the FallUI Suite and Ultra Wide Interace (21x9) (as suggested by TMR).  I used BethINI Pie to edit my ini files and made sure that they are routed to the profile-specific ini files generated by MO2.

When I first booted FO4 using F4SE through MO2, I noticed that the FOV settings were incorrectly set to 70.I double-checked in BethINI that I had changed them to my desired values and I had.

I checked the ini files generated by MO2 and they reflected the values from BethINI.  So I then assumed that for some reason the game was using the ini files from My Games. So to test this, I changed the FOV using console commands in-game and then use the "saveini" console command to lock in the changes. I rebooted the game to make sure the changes stuck, and then checked Fallout4.ini in My Games folder and much to my surprise, the values had not changed.  I had checked that the ini files are not read-only.

I am honestly at a loss as I cannot figure out what ini files the game is reading when launched using F4SE through MO2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MO2 stashes ini files in it's own location, so, you gotta launch thru MO2. (one of the reasons I don't like it.) You *should* be able to point MO2 at the F4SE loader, and things should work as advertised.

That is really the main issue. I am aware of MO2 creating its own ini files and I am also aware of the ini files in the My Games folder, but when launching F4SE through MO2, it does not seem to pe pulling from either location.  It's like there is a third set of ini files somewhere or something to that effect.  This is my hypothesis at the moment because I can change the FOV using console commands in-game and use saveini and the changes are kept when I launch the game again, but when checking the ini files, both for MO2 and in the My Games folder, nothing is changed.

It is very strange, and I cannot wrap my head around how it is happening.

Yes, by default MO2 puts its .ini's in %BASE_DIR%\profiles\<profile name>\.  You can choose where %BASE_DIR% is, both at install and later in your MO settings.

(My file paths are a little "odd" because I'm using Steam Proton on Linux.)
