[3.1][11] While Fully Establishing the New Gaiareseeker Homebase and Clarifying the Agreement

Almost instantly had Rainbowishelpis had transferred almost all of the Gaiareseeker to the new homebase but much was, in the new place, identical replicas of what had been left behind for others to use. Though most, of the new homebase was familiar in nature there were some oddities to be found, some being more exotic than others.

The Central Direction Coordination Supervision chamber, the CDCSC, was a domechamber with a circular tiered cone rising from the center being topped by a disk shaped, semienclosed, deck. Gaiacyborgers were there as the commander and his second in command as JulseRada and JulseReto. They wore new gaiacyborg informal armour suits as Gaiareseekers.

JulseRada indicated a big 3Dwallscreen now showing, from an isometric viewpoint, the supercontinent of Centralia of the NewEarth that the Doomsdays had turned into Doomsworld. "You can see the 3Dflag indicating the coordinates location of GAA0314 being underground but with one edge far too close to a cliff face. The Doomsdays weakened that approach and allowed our contracted taskforce to breach past the cliff wall. The mutabeings were enslaved but not by us for the Zocyborgerzo Empire believes such trickery to be inefficient and causes too much long term trouble. As a punishment unit we zocyborgs were displeased at our contract command for having us work for those who would exploit such slaves."

Then he indicated another flag position. "There is the Craterzone of multiple disintegration superweapon caused craters including the Cratertowns, the Cratercities, the Craterfarms and even the Great Craterlake. That is where, as zocyborgs, we were dropped off by orbit to surface shuttles with not enough equipment, or supplies, as far as we were concerned. From there we met up with a Shadowlord and his Shadowfollowers of that lowly, disgusting, Shadowcult. Still, it could have been some other faction but if it was the disguise was a brilliant one. They even stank, subtly, of Shadowcultists.  At least that Shadowlord made it clear that he was acting as a liaison and that his faction had not enslaved those mutabeings; Shadowlords, as you most likely know, are not known to be honest but this one seemed clear to distance himself, and the Shadowcult, from those they dealt with. We zocyborgers, at least a few of us did, picked up that the Shadowlord was frightened of that which he had briefly met which is amazing considering how very hard it is to scare those extreme fanatics."

Shully spoke. "Hybrid shadowior humans were all of the Shadowcultists but now others have started filling out their ranks though it is largely a mystery why this is happening. There are dark whispers of the Shadowcult being attacked by the Shadowadis that the Shadowcultists supposedly served with fanatical loyalty. Gaiawatchers were sent out into the local Doomslands but only in small numbers and only as far as the Craterzone and the Stronghorn Survivalist Settlements, the SSS. The last reports came from them over a century ago. A group was sent off to find out what had happened to them and to rescue them if that was necessary; after they vanished no more were sent after them as GAA0314 lacked the resources, including people, to do so. Our people also feared that somehow our powerful mind conditioning security processes had been compromised and we waited for trouble to arrive but it failed to do so. Amongst the last reports, gained, was a mention of Shadowcult activity increasing in the Craterzone."

JulseReto, who was a little less hulking than her clone brother, shook her head but as if to her own thoughts. "We were given appallingly little information about our mission. We were not warned about those who guarded the target deepvaults with such fanatical devotion. We only knew to pick up a black, oblong, container from in the black doored vault. We were told it was dangerous but neither how or why it was so."

Shully looked very thoughtful. "Yes, they were extremely fanatical about guarding that vault even against great odds but now I am starting to wonder about that."

A Rainbowishelpis avatar floated there as a rainbow sphere having materialised a short time ago with just a softest of shimmering effects which was a sure sign of its celestial nature. "None of those Gaiavaulters 'returned from death' and neither did any of the Gaiaguards that died fighting alongside them. They seemingly failed a deep celestial testing and suffered the consequences for doing so; I do not know any details and do not wish to do so but they truly must have committed great evil to be punished like that."

Shully suddenly looked startled. "We SQuins were all there and we all saw the dead Gaiavaulters, and Gaiaguards, there but I can not remember just how many such corpses there were."

JulseRada went to speak with firm confidence but then halted with an expression of uncertainty on his face. "Neither can I! Can you, JulseReto?"

She shook her head. "I just assumed that I had memorised them and that the numbers count would be in my mind, of those Gaiaregainers, to pluck out if I needed to do so. There is no such clear data either in my organic brain or computer databanks."

Shully gave a short, nervous, laugh. "They did not return from death because they were never alive in the first place. Its a conclusion that begs far more questions than it brings answers."

[3.2][12] While Fully Establishing the New Gaiareseeker Homebase and Clarifying the Agreement

The RQuins joined in an inward looking circle, sitting cross legged on floor mats, with the SQuins and they were soon joined by a Rainbowitis avatar floating in the center of the ring. Hands were joined and meditation began as from Rainbowishelpis projected thins, pale, rainbow beams of energy to the heads of the SR10. This was new to them but they deepsensed that it was positive to accept what was taking place and were somehow surprised that Rainbowisitis was assisting them, also, but through the spiritual psychic filters of Rainbowishelpis. As always celestial intervention was being carried out in a very careful and moderate manner.

When they came out of meditation state, K9herois was sleeping as a wolfdog with his head in Shimmy's lap. Gavag was sitting, cross legged, with his back to that of Sharry. Others were sitting there or, as in the permachildren, often sleeping as were cats, dogs, a wombat, snakes, lizards, some birds on perches in semienclosures. Stanleygo cared for the sleeping permababies Shandy and Sherry with their geng living nappy creatures. It was turning out that the gorilla based trimorpher was very good with younger children and permateens often liked to sleep close to him.

Rainbowishelpis was no longer there, as an avatar but they could deepsense Rainbowisitis in the metaphysical background.

Sharry spoke. "The spiritual psychic influence was celestial, was not hostile but was wary. It was not directly linked to Rainbowisit but was so! It was able to convince us, and others, in a general fashion that Gaiavaulters, and Gaiaguards, did go to protect the dangerous, isolated, deepvaults. Lightly implanted, false, memories were successful until focused on with any real intensity. Any effect was not meant to last but was done as a temporary measure but to achieve what?"

Rharry: "Perhaps to slow down the zocyborgs to give us time to get there so as to intervene before they could even attempt to open the black vault door."

Shimmy: "To give time for the exotic energy flash to build up so as to take place as it was intended to."

A songbird slept on Shenny's shoulder and peacefully pooped on her.

Rhonny: "We have gained much knowledge but we need it to come to the fore, of our minds, when it is most needed and not in any rush. We now know that there is at least one other celestial entity out there, in our GaiaArk, apart from Rainbowisit and Rainbowitis. Or at least it was here before the flash of energies."

They carried on with the discussion and then went off for some rest and recreation, with the others coming with them, to a large new commonroom of multifunctionality. For the moment there was little they could do but keep on with their normal routines. At least that was the case until they made some new plans or gained agreement based tasks to carry out.

[3.3][13] While Fully Establishing the New Gaiareseeker Homebase and Clarifying the Agreement

One Gaiareseeker Taskteam returned to exploring more isolated areas of the transformed, and expanded, GaiaArkA0314. It turned out it had been enlarged, with many new features added, for future expansion of population and functions carried out. The GAA0314 System was going through reformation now and not just the government with its single ministry, ministry departments, agencies, forces and so forth. Both the Gaiagoddess and Goddessgods Faiths were granted resources for new temples and compounds. Citizen Councils were to be expanded in number. The Citizen Tricouncil was at the center of struggle between orthodox loyalists, moderates, reformists and radical reformers.

The Gaiareseeker Homebase needed exploration, charting and to be properly inventoried as it was discovered that it was not only larger than previously envisioned, by the Gaiareseekers but that it was slowly-steadily expanding 'internally' with out the external structure doing so. So at any time a taskteam was given that task.

Gaiareseekers found that there was more work to do to properly establish, the new homebase, as had previously been hoped for.

It was assumed that the Gaiareseekers would not be involved in assisting Rainbowisitis and Rainbowishelpis directly in the Gaiarainbowland as it was now being called. As it was it turned out that the Gaiarainbowland was 'bigger side than out' as a bubble and was also expanding 'internally but not externally'.

So it was that the Centre of Questing Clues, CQC, was found inside the new Gaiareseeker Homebase being at first one big cubechamber with quarterfloors above, alcoves and sidechambers. It seemed to be a mixture of museum, art gallery, library, study area and more. While a few items, on display, were sealed off, others were hands on interactive. 10 pinball games, ranging from very old fashioned to quite modernistic, were in one alcove. Paintings were on walls in a protective statues as were other artworks. Holographic projection art floated in mid air. Great bookcases were integrated into alcoves and were full of more than just books. Another alcove had gymnasium type games to play.

Rattanboy, with Rattangirl, threw basketballs through vertical hoops and into horizontal baskets. Even as they did so they were surprised to find the game shifting to become more difficult as to suit their level of sporting skills which was very high in many ways.

Oddest, still, was the LittleHelperMan who sat comfortably, behind a transparent screen, in a comfortable armchair raised up into the air so he could easily see, and be seen, over the large counter. He sold tokens to operate games with and gave over prizes for either tokens or prize tickets earned or both; a player could win back spent tokens or even gain more. His skin was coppery, his hair darker so and he wore a comfortable bathrobe over silken pajamas. His feet were clad in fluffy sneakers. His name was displayed on the counter in the form of a sign.

Rhonny came to stand in front of the counter, his eyes roving over the items on display on the counter though in truth he was carefully observing the LittleHelperMan but he soon gave this up as it somehow came to him that the strange figure was not in the slightest fooled. He spoke. "QuestCola, never seen such a drink before in a tubebottle especially. That looks to be safety flexiglass."

The LittleHelperMan smiled rather generously. "One copper token per bottle of one litre capacity. 10 silver tokens gets you 10 plus a bonus one and a silver token gets you 100 plus a bonus of 10. QuestCola not only helps you survive any quest, that you need to carry out, but comes in interesting 100 flavours. QuestCoffee, QuestBars of foodbars, and other QuestCorp items are available, as you see before you, including non consumables. Prices can change but remember there are ways to gain tokens other than paying for them. Now, how many tokens would you like and how will you choose to pay for them?"

Rhonny took out a Gaiaregainer smartcashcard. "You take this?" He was trying to test out the strange man but in a careful manner. The odd figure smiled some more. "One subcredit for each copper token, a credit for one silver token and 100 credits per gold token with daily limits, per person, on how many tokens, of what value, can be bought with your Gaiaregainer currency; that is on an individual basis. A good deal of what the CQC has to offer is free though some times rationed depending on the particular goods or services offered."

Rhonny passed over the smartcashcard. "Has a value on it of 1,000 credits. I will spend the lot, if I can, on a range of token types. Do you like working here?"

The man smiled. "I do my best to serve the CQC to my fullest capacity. Now you can take with you a free giftbag full of selected freebies."

Feeling like he had hit a well mannered brick wall, in trying to learn more about the LittleHelperMan, Rhonny walked away with a free purse of tokens and a fairly large giftbag.

[3.4][14] While Fully Establishing the New Gaiareseeker Homebase and Clarifying the Agreement

A wall map showed in part of an alcove of maps of GaiaArkA0314 but this one, unlike the others, was not to be found in any official collection or atlas or other documentation. It was a level below GAA0314 that was shown in general detail only but was where workers, specialists, others had lived. There were workshops there, storerooms full of resources or rubbish or even salvaged materials, transport bays, offices, dormitories, barracks, elevator hubs, and more including poorly defined areas.

Sharry paid a token and gained a smallish laminated print out copy of the map but then nine more were bought. "There is no coincidence that the wall map happens to be here. We are meant to go down there but how? GAA0314 has three major levels to it with a smaller level above those. None of the old elevator hubs are used now but there is a chance that at least one of those will take us down to this unofficial level. Those elevators have probably had no proper maintenance for years but the energy flash incident probably renewed them as it did all else."

Rhonny had emptied out his giftbag to reveal a visitors guide booklet, a large CQC badge, a tubebottle of lemony flavoured QuestCola, a large 3Dpostcard, a small booklet of discount vouchers, a large QuestBar foodbar marked as 'family sized', a QuestGirl collectors item of a figurine and a QuestCola marked toy delivery hovervan. The items lay on top of a small sidetable but there were three odd items not found on the giftbag inventory list. They were three old fashioned type brass keys on a keyring,  a badly stained sheet of paper having been burned at the bottom and a long, pale white, fang.

Rhonny frowned. "I would not be at all surprised if the odd items out, from the giftbag, are linked to that mysterious lower level. The keys are each marked with a typical wall locker code, the paper has some scrawled information on it indicating that below that level is yet another one and, as for the fang, it could have come from something big and nasty; let us hope it is from a creature that is truly small, harmless and friendly."

He ran a handscanner over the fang and confirmed that it was as real as it looked which was very much so. He was in the wall maps alcove so Sharry turned to look at him. "Hold up the fang for me to see."

Rhonny did so and Sharry studied the fang before frowning softly. "It is mostly from a shadowbeast of a kind known as a shadowfanger. One could find the name amusing except they are very dangerous creatures that are more so when attacking in packs which they often do. I am afraid that 'small, harmless and friendly' is most unlikely what we would meet if we encounter any."

Rhonny snorted. "One can always hope we will run into an exception to the rule."

Gavag spoke. "The Rattantwins are coming over as if drawn to the drink, and food, from the giftbag."

Sharry laughed softly, for a moment. "While the pair always seem to be hungry, and thirsty, I doubt that that is the reason for them coming here."

Rattangirl was the first Rattantwin to speak after they arrived. "The sporting type games appear to be handy for training but could also be for testing those who use them. They quickly adapt, somehow, to the skill levels of the users. What ever game we played be it the basketball one, the archery one, the bowling one, the rowing machine one or any of the others, we were quickly being challenged to do our very best to earn tokens and-or prize tickets. We did win some, of each, and got a surprise gift of a collectors item of a small target crossbow replica."

The others began to arrive until all of the taskteam was there.

The official giftbag items were to be found to be of mixed levels of surprise. The visitors' guide booklet was as would be expected with its basic, general, information including a simple map of the CQC chamber, lists of a few features and some rich quality 2Dphotos. The badge did not seem to have anything special about it, at first. The taskteam shared the QuestCola and QuestBar, enjoying both of them. The figurine, and toy hovertruck, would go on display in the big commonroom for all to see or so was the hopeful plan. QuestGirl was a fairly scantily dressed, young, blonde woman with blue eyes who could have been mistaken for one of the SQuins which the two SQuins there did not fully appreciate.

As for the booklet, of discount vouchers, it had 50% discounts on an interesting list of 10 items being one pull out page per voucher.

[4.1][15] Venturing Down Below GaiaArkA314, Discoveries and Action

The Primary Quest was established, formerly, for the Gaiaseekers to help find all of the lost CEEETs and the First Subquest linked to that was to find the CEEET as last reported to be in the area of GAA0314. To that extent the agreement was clarified.

A taskteam, of 20 Gaiareseekers, entered Self Projection Booths, SPBs, to find themselves serving still inside the homebase while also leaving it. They materialised in a cable teleport booth, or CTB, as 10 humans, five cyborgs and five others. Two SQuins were there along with two RQuins plus six other humans of Le'Nerd, Widowwitch, the Rattantwins, Gavag and Sagesmart. There were the five gaiacyborgs. There were three robots as MrCarryon, Trieyebot and SargeGAI. The last two were K9herois as a trimorpher and an honorary Gaiareseeker of a Rainbowishelpis avatar.

The SPBs were super solidstate technologies as loaned to the Gaiareseekers from celestials.

There had always been only a relatively few CTBs in that GaiaArk and so they walked, or hover shifted as with Trieyebot. They found one of the long abandoned elevator hubs, long made redundant by transvators that could s#*! vertically, horizontally or even diagonally but now the six elevators were in fine working order being one relative big one, two medium and three small ones. They dared to use the big elevator only because the unofficial level was quite deep below GAA0314.

The elevator was locked but they quickly got past that obstacle and were soon on their way down to the relatively unknown. With quiet humming the elevator descended until it stopped and the double doors parted open with another quiet humming sound. Gaiareseekers were ready for trouble but they did not sense any threat as they came out into the corresponding elevator hub below the first one that they had used.

The six limbed , furry off white, creature was licking his own belly that was not furry. Clearly male, he looked up to show the head shape of a shadowfanger except that he was not one. He wagged his odd, furry, tail in welcome and made an odd, distorting, 'foofing' noise. Shenny, as one of the two SQuins there, threw him a snack that the creature happily gobbled down. After consuming more food, and some water, the entity spoke in a low guttural voice. "Me is OoofingOnoo. Me used to be a very unhappy shadowfanger until big yellow white flashy flash changed everything. Me take you to the others!"

The lighting was bright, the air was fresh as the ventilation systems seemed to be active and security 3Dcameras moved to follow them from where they were sited on the ceiling, often in corners. OoofingOnoo led them along a hallway where a remoterobot was doing some very quiet vacuuming. After that they came into a larger space where humans, androids and robots were quite busy carrying out multiple tasks or were resting in a lounge area or sleeping on cots.

OoofingOnoo spoke proudly to a human guard in security power armour. "Me does wonderful scouting duties and found these newcomers in a very sneaky way."

The woman responded with a sigh and a fond voice. "Meaning you were goofing off again near the elevators and they found you. Compumanis0223 detected these Gaiaregainers using one of the elevators, cheeky boy. Now you go and take a nap, with other palefangers, while I take these newcomers to meet the elders."

With no sign of guilt at all, the palefanger rushed off to join a mound of palefangers all sleeping curled up together.

[4.2][16] Venturing Down Below GaiaArkA314, Discoveries and Action

They were Gaiareclaimers who were Gaiaregainers who began the process of establishing a GaiaArk, or other type of Gaiaregainer Site, before constructing such sites and often networks between them of transportation and telecommunications. They had only vague impression memories of what had happened to them before the flash incident had somehow returned many of the original ones to existence.

Sharry gave to the five elders a copy of the 3Dpostcard that had been taken from Rhonny's giftbag. It showed a larger group of elders being of the Gaiareclaimers back in that level that was being used as a basis for constructing GaiaArkA0314. The five, current, elders were there along with four others and the five had not changed in appearance because they even wore the same type hoodrobes of elders. They were of leadership, administration, security, construction and logistics.

None seemed at all surprised to meet with the Rainbowishelpis avatar.

Leadership Elder, a woman of yellow brown skin, spoke in the standard language of Panglish. "Rainbowishelpis stated you Gaiareseekers would be sending a large taskteam to us. You are welcome! The cyborgs with you are somewhat familiar."

Sharry spoke. "Our comrades are former zocyborgs as changed by the same celestial flash incident that brought you back to existence along with much else here or so I guess."

The other woman nodded. "Rainbowishelpis has already informed us that is the case. The effect was less stronger here than in GAA0314 but, as you can see, we have regained many resources and are centered here and in other chambers close to this one. We gained new companions of former shadowfangers, of palefangers, palelings of former shadowlings and paletasms of former shadowtasms. Each group has proven to be excellent in detecting, and fighting, its shadow counterpart. Out from this zone the rejuvenation, regeneration, replacement effect becomes steadily weaker until there is only abandoned areas of dark ruination where there still are shadowbeings to be found. Thankfully they do not seem to be in any great numbers and so far have proven to have little interest in such; that is thankfully because there may be far more of them than we have so far estimated along with other, more powerful, celestial shadow threats."

The Celestial Shadow that existed just because the Celestial did but which was not of it!

Sharry was obviously thoughtful. "What of areas close to other elevator hubs? The flash effect could have come down through the elevator shafts."

She passed over a copy of the map of that level. "A very basic map of this level. The level seems to be largely in a condition that could be stated as at least reasonable. They appear to be focused on the elevator hubs just as this area is. Are your palemimics as versus shadowmimics that you used to be?"

So the Gaiareclaimers turned out to be not so but a number of palemimics who were pretending, quite well, to be humans there. The androids, and robots, were just that and were serving the palemimics as they would genuine Gaiareclaimers.

The leadership elder remained as one but became, in appearance, a very pale and hairless humanoid figure as did the other, fake, humans there. "I am now named GaiaCessuna and we wish to be Gaiaregainers. I would ask you how you knew us to be pretenders but there is about you a subtle aura of what might even be celestial nature."

GaiaCessuna sighed out a long sigh. "Not too many of us at all. We accept your offer to be Gaiareseekers especially as our mimic abilities will help greatly with what your faction does as in scouting and even infiltrating areas."

Sharry smiled. "We invite you to join the ranks of the Gaiareseekers for the malignance, of the Celestial Shadow, is absent from you. Did many of you former shadowfolk, return from the flash effect?"

So the it was that the Gaiareseekers expanded in numbers and types now that palefolk joined them. The robots, and androids, along with resources were welcome.

[4.3][16] Venturing Down Below GaiaArkA314, Discoveries and Action

Shadownoids, shadowfangers, shadowtasms but mostly shadowlings attacked across the big chamber of light damage and untidiness. There were no shadowmimics or other shadowfolk there. The Gaiareseekers focused on using UVLGs, handflamers and pulseguns against the shadowfolk because they were most vulnerable to such weapons, the handflamers slowing or even driving them back. The pulseguns did them great damage but it was the UVLGs that swept them out of existence.

The palemimics fought alongside the other Gaiareseekers using a wide range of weapons but mostly patchwork ones such as shockbidents and a range of moderate powered automatic guns being pistols, carbines, rifles and shotguns.

As abruptly as the attack had begun, it ended and enemy survivors fled. The palefangers, paletasms and palelings had not become involved as they were melee fighters and the battle had never come to close order fighting.

The low, stocky, humanoids of shadownoids had been a surprising addition to the attack.

GaiaCessuna spoke with a tone of sharp irony. "So much for 'they' having no interest in us who-what ever they happen to be. We will have to stock up on ammo."

Shimmy spoke, with K9hero standing next to her as a human with some small wolfdog features. "No, you will need to go to the Gaiareseeker Homebase along with much of your resources. There you can be trained up and gain new equipment. Much here could be used by a Gaiaregainer Outpost."

GaiaCessuna bowed briefly. "Yes, a fine idea, and then our honesty can be verified."

The Rainbowishelpis Avatar bobbed up and down. "Deep truth was given to you by the Celestial Energies Flash and has already been verified. When you palefolk were shadowfolk, you were having doubts about serving what appears to have been the Shadowcult. Perhaps that is part of the reason you were returned."

Both Rainbowisitis and Rainbowishelpis had only limited knowledge and that was probably no accident but would go along with how celestial entities interacted with mortals in mortal realms.

[4.4][17] Venturing Down Below GaiaArkA314, Discoveries and Action

After a large Gaiaregainer Taskteam came down to the area, where the palefolk had earlier departed from with many resources with the help of Rainbowishelpis, the original Gaiareseeker Taskteam moved on through that area and then past a row of ground vehicles, big robots and other machines in long term storage mode; that is on platforms and covered with special sheeting. The GaiaArk would find good use for them as it would with other resources down there.

They found a great space with a hole smashed into its floor from beneath or so they calculated from the evidence there. Burned out, or smashed, heavy security robots spoke of a hard battle having taken place there. What looked like quite exotic machines were also part melted, often broken as if by great force. There were plenty of scorch marks, bullet holes and other signs of fighting having taken place. Then there were long dead humans, destroyed androids, in power armour or even, in some cases, in small armoured mecha humanoids.

Was the strange attack, from below, linked with Shadowadis causing the biodroids, in the experimental domechamber, to go aggressively berserk? There were areas of fading away black stain that were reported to be a sign of Shadowadis activity having taken place in an area.

They dropped flares down the hole only to catch a glimpse of something black, glistening, slipping away as retracting, round, tentacles. It was an easy decision to make that it was too dangerous to go down that great hole or at least until they learned more about what had happened centuries ago in that place.
