Blinkybubs
I'm getting these notifications all of a sudden, I haven't downloaded any new mods and I've been playing a game for a while now without these pop ups. What is my course of action to resolve these?
anjenthedog
Afaik, it means that a) you didn't install the mod directly from/through nexus (Nexus > Vortex via or similar) b) AND/OR you installed it from hard drive. (for instance, you downloaded the mod from nexus to your harddrive, then installed it from that local location) Far as I understand the message, it really boils down to (b) "you installed that from your hard drive, dincha?" Nexus won't understand where it came from, and it won't provide update status in the associated column (Mod tab). You also can't "reinstall" from a local drive, as I re-realized again just a week or so ago, when performing some maintenance on my game
Blinkybubs
The only one I've downloaded from a zip was LOTD and that is because that is the only way to get it from nexus. Is there a workaround? Edited July 8 by Blinkybubs
anjenthedog
Well not looking to argue, just offering the two conditions (actually one) that I've encountered over the past 5-1/2 years playing Skyrim, using vortex (solely) as my mod manager. Best of luck
showler
Does it tell you what mod it is referring to?
Blinkybubs
No. If it did and I couldn't sort it out I'd just yank it from my load order completely. Edited July 9 by Blinkybubs
anjenthedog
There is one more possibility I didn't think of before. When mods are removed from Nexus (by any author or in some cases by "management"), they eventually appear in vortex in the same way, ie an unrecognized websource. Which mod? You don't show the mod name, only a little clip with the relevant flag column... There's a "haul" in it, so I expect it's some sort of overhaul, but other than that no clue. Blinkybubs
It doesn't point to any mod in particular...That is what is confusing.
anjenthedog
Honesty is in short supply these days. The end part of a word is clearly in evidence in your snap shot. In fact, when one looks further on that snapshot, one can see that it occupies position 565 in the mod load order, its mod index is (hex) 8B, and its purpose is "alchemy overhauls"
showler
Careful what accusations you make. The mod that is shown in the screenshot is ENTIRELY the result of the filters applied when the screenshot was taken. It has nothing to do with the messages in the notification area. If Vortex was going to tell them what mods the errors are referring to the information would come from a pop-up box when they clicked on the message in the notification area.
