Is there anyway of installing CK for the GoG version of the game ? As I am now seriously considering biting the bullet and  buying the steam version just so i can use CK because anything created in CK will work in the GOG version anyway.

Yes, i use the CK all the time with the GOG version, you need to get the CK from steam but you shoudn't need to buy Skyrim on there - though I may be wrong since I do in fact also own steam Skyrim so I can't compare and contrast - the CK is a separate download in "software" on the steam library.  Once you have it, zip it up and install as a mod in Skyrim (make sure to install as 'engine injector if using Vortex).

Then you will need this:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/71371

also install as engine injector if using Vortex.

In my skyrim install folder I have

3WObBiX.png

7w7CRhY.png

as well as the files from the CK Platform Extended mod above.

Do you have steam_api64.dll in the game directory?  What version is it?

No. As i said in original post, its not the Steam version of Skyrim, its GoG 1179. Because CK seems to be DRM tied to Steam,  the steam download of CK wont work with the GoG version of Skyrim because its missing the Steam api.

Stupid question, but would that file be available from another Steam game/program?

Managed to get it working in GOG. I downloaded it from steam, moved it to desktop, then managed to track down an offline version of steam_api64.dll, dropped that into the moved folder, archived the folder then installed it into the GOG Skyrim files via vortex and its working fine. 👍🏼
