CoffeeAddled
I started getting this error message about a week ago: Quote The operating system has reported an error without details when accessing D:\games\loot\loot.exe. This is usually due the user's environment and not a bug in Vortex. Please diagnose your environment and then retry. I never used LOOT and don't have a D drive. I have to hit cancel 4-20+ times to make the popup go away and it returns when I do things like install/deploy/delete files/breathe funny. Ran virus scans several times, deleted and reinstalled Vortex, tried an earlier version of Vortex that gave me the same problem, and the problem persists. I even deleted and reinstalled Fallout 4 and it keeps happening. It's the newest version of Vortex, 1.12.0. Other than partitioning my drive to create a D drive and putting LOOT on it, is there a way to stop it from accessing LOOT?
Solution showler Posted August 9 Solution Share Posted August 9 Check your "tools" tab and see if there is a "loot" tool that has been added. If you downloaded a badly made Collection at any point it might be trying to reference a tool that doesn't exist.

If you downloaded a badly made Collection at any point it might be trying to reference a tool that doesn't exist. Tools are referenced by the Vortex extension or added manually by the user. A collection would not add a tool. It can only add mods. Also, there is no "tool" for LOOT as it is a built-in extension for Vortex. And if there was a Tool for LOOT, it would simply not be available if Vortex couldn't find it. It would not throw an error.
showler
LOOT is also a stand alone program that can be referenced by a Collection if the curator is not good at their job.
