Ads forcing me onto their sites unwillingly

I keep getting scam popups that looks like McAfee antivirus claiming that Nexus Mods has illegal content or "please verify that you are not a robot".

I'm getting this too, trying to read a mod description then I get auto redirected to a scam page you'd see on sketchy adult sites.

I had a similar fullscreen ad popup causing issues:
 

• Anti-Malware/Antivirus: McAfee Antivirus
• The date and time you saw this ad: Been seeing them since Aug 6th, 2024
• The URL of the page you were on at the time: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition
• Your general location: Los Angeles, Ca
• Description: Since Aug 6th  every time i get into Nexus Mods Skyrim Special Edition page and scroll around i've been redirected to McAfee scam ads and other ads after about 10seconds.  They are fullscreen and I cannot get back to the page.
• URLs i've been redirected to:
