Dwalin2012
Got a problem in my current playthrough: in vanilla Oblivion, when you kill the shaman of one of the named goblin tribes, the other goblins stop attacking you and become completely passive. However, in my playthrough they continue to be hostile even after their shaman's death. I tried to deactivate all the mods I have installed, and then even tried a fresh Steam installation on another PC, without any mods at all (apart from Alternative Beginnigs, to avoid going through the tutorial dungeon every time). No luck, the goblins continue to attack my character even if I kill the shaman through console, without touching any other goblin in the cave. I know that with non-tribal goblins this trick was never supposed to work, but I tried it with the NAMED tribes (like Bloody Hand, Sharp Tooth, Dust Eater etc), and they all seem not to give a damn about whether their shamans are dead or alive. Does anyone else have the same problem? Could it be a bug in the Steam version of the game maybe? If I remember correctly, when I played the dvd version years ago, it worked correctly, the goblins became passive without the shamans, as they were supposed to. RomanR
I'm not completely sure, but named goblin tribes were often part of some quest, like Bloody Hand and Rock Biter goblins in Goblin Trouble quest (in which you help people driven out from Cropsford due a war between these two). I remember that I solved this quest rather brutally - killed both shamans and took their Goblin Totem Staffs too. I have another one in one of my chests stored, but I can't remember where I got it (it's years when I took a new playthrough).
AndalayBay
Also, mods like Kvatch Rebuilt add new ones, so perhaps there's something going on there. I took a look at the UESP and they say that killing the shaman(s) should make them peaceful as the OP says, so I have nothing to suggest other than checking mods. I usually stay away from goblins and don't even do the Cropsford quest anymore!
LenaWolfBravil
I am not sure if it is actually programmed corectly in vanilla, respectively whether it always fires. I remember on Xbox 360 I could never get them to stop fighting when I tried to play the Cropsford quest peacefully (more or less). I think may be once a goblin gets into attack mode, he never becomes peaceful again, shaman or no shaman. Not entirely sure. To pacify each individual goblin, you can click them in the console and issue command "StopCombat" and/or "StopCombatOnActor". Then if the shaman is dead, they should remain passive. That's assuming that the scripts that were supposed to run on death, actually ran. Sorry I can't be more help than that. Goblins are pretty nasty creatures, so who knows...
