@Pellape
Yes, I learned I understand because I did Latin when I was younger, it's really interesting.
I could use all this information for my mod.
Just let’s go back, is this lore-friendly/canon?"

@RLTheCoolStudios

Well if you wrote that earlier, than I might not added so much stuff.  😄  Still more read all this I guess than you and me, I guess and some may think it is fun to look at those videos?  IDK??

I will answer your question again. You will not get that answer here as you have to ask it at Reddit or Facebook, if you not already did that. Ask here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutMods/

You will get so much answers, so many different ones, honest ones as well, be prepared for nasty ones, as some players are nuts. That it will not make you more wise than you already are. You must use your own judgement, and do what you feel is right, nothing else. Do not take any sh't from them, just stay insane and relaxed.  😄

@RLTheCoolStudiosI did 3 similar side quests in FNV, but I do not recall right now where I got the quests, but maybe it was this one? https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Camp_Forlorn_Hope

Still the goal was and still is. Get medicine to the doctor. Get reinforcements from the garrisons. Still, rebuilding that camp makes perfect sense and should be done. I say YES!!  We do it in F4!!!!  It is very very vital, well mostly for the hundreds of quests added by the SS2 team.

There is another settlement that needs your aid right now!!!  Help THEM!!!!  Help them now!!!  😄  Damn I am so tired of this...  It never did stop in F4, never...  Well this is F76, still very funny.

When everyone in that video has their guns out all the time, feels so threat-ful, well, do they not get tired in their arms? A simple 10mm pistol do weight a lot really. My old M45 auto, did weight 4.5 kg with full ammo 32 bullets and I was damn tired to carry it after 30km walk...  😮  A friend had to carry it for me that was stronger...  😮  Still, I was forced to do it, as I did not volunteered to the military at all... It was 1985, during the cold war. It is not realistic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Gustaf_m/45

The weapon that took over M45 in Sweden was heavier and I think it did use 5.56 ammo instead, which is a better ammo, no doubt. Well I stop there.  😄  Or I get carried away, again... US special forces did use our Swedish M45 in Vietnam, as you could drop it in pure mud and start shooting again without any issues. It did use small 9mm ammo, could not hurt anyone if they where more than 25m away. The bullets where sensible to the wind and could end up anywhere if it was windy. Still you cannot hold you weapon like that for a long time. No matter how strong you are. They weight a lot. Did bullets got stuck in the pipe? Well it did happen but rarely. Did we had any pipe explosions? Well no, but we was warned about it that it could happen, specially if we did not clean our weapons every day.

When I came to the Air force base, we had a single M45 there, with double magazines, 64 real bullets but that was against the law as max 3 was allowed. We did clean it in the JA 37 Viggen cannon washer.  😄  Used weapon grease, and that's it.  Fast and effective. Was it fast to wash that cannon?  NO WAY. It was awful, terrible and extremely dull!!!

Just start making your mod  😄  Do not give a damn about what others think. Just have fun  😄

Another thing I did forget to add is.

  • If I born in Germany or France, would I had become a Roman Citizen or a slave? --> Slave most likely
  • If I was born pure blooded Italian and could prove it?  --> Citizen

Still some Swedes came home after 463, rich as trolls. The biggest murder mystery did occur at the same time at Öland. Take a peek at that one as that is hysteric and depressing. I do not know if it is translated to English really. This was the effect of true Fallout. All resources was gone, more mouths suddenly to feed. people feeling threaten by foreign elite soldiers, Swedes comming home again. That is a speculation, but the only one that make sense as Roman Sestiers was found there, in pure gold. Where did they come from? Viking is the wrong word as the meaning is a sailor from the fjords but still, we sure had cool ships before 763, but it was not recorded until then, the first Viking strike at Britain.

Lets see if I cannot find the 1 hour video about the investigations. I failed but still, it was SVT, and this is a short version for YouTube. Here is their main homepage from the investigation.

here is one model of a 3000 year old Swedish ship. Not fancy nor beautiful, but it did work

This is a much more beautiful replica of a Bronze age Sweden ship, also 300 tears old model. Sails? Well that was not possible with that construction, with leather. But I love the design, no doubt.

afbeelding4.png?anchor=center&mode=crop&

Sweden? I am a Swede. Denmark and Noway did the same as we did. I have visited the museums in denmark, seeing the viking ships closely. It was not possible to use the old ships, crossing Atlantic or Nordic Sea until around the year 700 when the sai was intruduced up here. We4 also have a ship museum, but of a boat around the year 1630, called Vasa

What about the antique shops? They where grand and beatifull monsters, made by Romans, Greece and Africans, almost the same models. Smaller more robust vessels where used to sail to Britain for trade, mostly lead as Britain was filled with Lead.

Damn, Lead did poison the Romans, made them crazy. All pipes in Rome was made from LEAD. It is even dangerous to touch lead with your fingers. I made soldier from lead as a kid, so maybe I am crazy as well?  😄  The thought did cross my mind many times.  😄

It is so hard to find the longer film...  I did find this page and a roman coin though, finally...  Damn internet. I could have asked Copilot AI really... I could not link the photo as it require you are inside Britannia to see it.

Why did this period create so much legends and fairy tales? Well, no one wrote them down as they where told at the fire places, where told for generations and also changed by time until the year around 1250. Can we trust the late Dark Ages books about the old stories that did happen after around 450 AD to 1066 AD? Well not really. Life was so depressing at that period of human history, that fairy tales just made life easier to live. Imaging how dull it must have been, everything just gone. What was the purpose of living? What was the meaning of life?  Well to just stay alive I guess. It was a hopeless period with not much joy at all.

1066 the first real historic document was created, again. The Tapestry of the battles at Hastings.

https://www.bayeuxmuseum.com/en/the-bayeux-tapestry/discover-the-bayeux-tapestry/

Som brittish kings did write down their stories from around 800, but only a few did. That is also in the TV-series about the Vikings. First Trailer  This is good. Who wants to be the King?

One more...  😉   How to create and make a legend 6 min long. So much Drama...  😉  Ivar Boneless, at the wagon, became the most brutal King we ever had I guess. He was sick in his mind and feared nothing. What an ass. He was pure evil.

Björn Ironside was not a Norweigan as they claim in the video. He was a Swedish King In pure Swedish: Björn Järnsida. Simple as that. Still, did he live? No one really know, but Ivar did as he became a king in England, the Dane Law, so he was a Dane. Where they real brothers all those 4? No they was not. Sons of Ragnar? No they where not. This mess was made by the writers of the story, still it is what was written down after 1066.

Our first real documented king was Olof Skötkonung and his father Erik Segersäll. The name means the King with many victories. Ge was christian for a short period, when he spent some time in Denmark but he left Christianity, the same way and reason as Ragnar did in the TV-series, to go back to asa, well Thor Odin and those gods, again. He knew he would enter Valhalla, without any problems at all. Olof was Christian though. I really think that Ragnar in the series is Erik Segersäll, but who really knows??  It was a period of pure chaos that few documented, well 3 did as few could write at all. We did use runes in Sweden, but only a few knew them.

So..  Well..  The stories are amazing, no doubt. Amazing and dramatic and extreme. Bethesda did use a lot of them for TES and also made up a lot of course, but the base is there.

I really hope this video will answer your questions. It asks the same questions all over and over again, but gives 2 complete different answers. It is still up to each individual settler to solve their own situation.

I do choose the boring option, if I may choose. I want stuff pure and clean, if possible  😄  If you make new items, will they look broken and bombed? Making the bombed items are much harder than making the clean ones, no matter if it is for the game or in reality. It will look new.

Real history also tell us that new stuff always looks good, not used, not damaged, nor broken. Just damn good. That is if you do not reuse broken stuff that is, which we do in Fallout I guess...  😕  Damn...  Why only scavage for parts when there is ...  Well the trees are really dead, are they not?  There is no trees in Mojave, but clay. Lots of Clay and Lead, maybe gold? Gold is easy to use for anything but it is also soft as lead if you do not mix it up with other metals, like silver or whatever, like Copper that you mix with lead to make Bronze. Yes Mojave is filled with Copper  😄  Well iron...  Still we needs trees for making Bronze and Iron from Iron Oxide. Coal?  Does it not exist a layer of Coal under Mojave?  Yes it does  😄  😉  Well we can pretend it does at least. Did not NCR find a lot of coal recently? They did, did they not?  Oki, coal is a limited resource but enough to make some Iron and Bronze. We could also just grow cactus's and dry them and burn them...  What does a dry cactus looks like?  Not much... Will it burn?  yes, damn fast too.  -> Clay

@RLTheCoolStudios

I got so surprised by this video but it is also true. What is our deepest relations with Ukraine in the first place? Well, around 1710 we got help from the Cossack's from Ukraine to fight Russia and they got so impressed by our old King Carl XII that they made their own flag Blue and Yellow. We did win our first battle, 6000 Swedes againt 20000 Russians at Narva but we lost against Russia at Poltava as Peter did a master tactic move, was thrown out from Ukraine  and took shelter in Turkey, tried to force Turkey to start war again against Russia, we did succeed but the turks did loose the battle and attacked our King and forced him out of Turkey. Well to make a long story short. The war ended around 1810 and Russia did attack our whole east coast, sacked everything in their path and raided us, Do we love Russia? No way. We hate them and, well my closest mate at work is Russian by the way, former Sovjet Volleyball player Iouri Kousnetsov but that is not the point. I do love his player T-shirt, hand made in Japan. Our King XII got a bullet in his head 1718. By who? I do have my suspision by who really. That is also a cool story. Who killed our King XII??  😄

Rus = A Swede - We created Russia 1200 years ago😄   Sweden is called Ruotsi in finish. Did our Vikings attack west, well no, that was the Danes and Norweigans. So where did we go? East, and formed Russia, and we used to call it Miklagård I think it was? Damn I forgot...  Does not matter really. What matters is now, today, the war in Ukraine.  😄  What a circus. I do think the world would had become a better place if we took over Russia honestly but that would had made Sweden poor. We would then had been forced to rebuild it. Should that even be possible?  Well nothing is impossible but it would had been damn hard. Russia's biggest problem is corruption and how do you stop that? You could not get anything done in Russia if you did not bring a bottle of Whiskey to the table, then they would help you. It is that mentality that is wrong, not Russia in itself and not the Russians as they are mostly fun, but not educated, well that is not their fault as their system sucks. Why did Russia became such a pain in the butt in the first place? How did they manage to make the worlds best hockey team ever seen? Those hockey players are now friends with Putin, Fetisov is the Sports minister, Krutov train Russian kids and so on. It is still a sick country that needs to be reformed. Will Russia ever get such a hockey team again?  Well no way. They where slaves, trained double as any other hockey player did. They where military, not sportsmen and they did it for Russia, not them selves they claim. If they won, it was for Russia.  😮  I remeber that I used to hate the CCCP hockey team, specially when they did beat us with 13-1 and we did won one single game. Then the Russian players got punished. They did not accepted that anyone would beat them, as it was their fault they lost, not that the enemy was better or good. That is a tactic that creates robots and brain washed soldiers.

How do we stop them?

Russia had 10% the military power of Nato. If they cannot defeat Ukraine, they cannot defeat us. The whole world will win if Russia stops this nasty war.  Putin is a mad man and a dictator, maybe the new Julius Caesar but wait, hmm... Did I not call Trump the new Caesar? 😄  Well so much sh't is going on, I did lost track of it. Let's see if we get a civil war in USA 2028, shall we? Count on it. See the movie about Roger Stone as that man is extremely dangerous, the old Nixon councilor and Trump's buddy. What did he plan 2016?  Revolt.  😄 He did fled Washington during the attack against the Senate Jan 2021, as his closest friend got pick up by FBI and, well it was all filmed. How he made the voters to attack the Senate. So many got hurt in that process. What did it lead to? Do they still focus at the right threat against USA? No, they do not. I saw the movie the other day and I just got a chock. Why do the US citizens really act like this? Their country is great, is it not? So what is the problem? Trump never said at any point, how to make America great again. What is his agenda? What political goals have he set up? Well, no one knows. They did elect him to keep the borders closed and keep all finances short as that is what he is good at. He is dangerous.

Could something like this be used in Fallout NV??

What about the Soviet hockey team? We will never see this again. It was a slaughter, a massacre and now I just love seeing it. I really miss this team and I hate seeing the new Russian hockey which only makes me turn off the Television. Why watch such looser's?  Well...  The old trainer was hired again, tried to use his old way of dealing with Russian players, Fetisov hates him, but did agree to hire him again, maybe Putin did force him doing it? IDK??   Did he save Russian hockey? IDK??  I do not watch it any longer. as I only get depressed by it. I want to see pro hockey, like this, when they play the puck, not beat the sh't out of each others. Well violence is part of the game, to put the enemy down but still, where goes the line? Did the Sovjet old team use violence? Well some but they focused at playing the puck and the game, beautiful skiing and well, they did ballet.

What is Russia's main problem? Well they have good individual players, no doubt but they forgot that hockey is not an individual game, as it is a team sport. You must be a good player, no dobt but you must also read the game, know when to pass the puck, know where your team mates are, all the time. Do they know this today? No way they do and they keep loosing. This is history and long gone, maybe forever. Who really wants to train double as everyone else? They did spend 11 months a year at a training camp, with no family, no life. It was a prison. Sorry, Swedish language and no subtitles. Do you understand Russian?

I did see that film 2 days ago, again. I did not know if I enjoyed it or not as it is a sad story about the misery of these best players in the world. I could bot believe it the first time I saw it.

Does Fetisov play hockey still? Well yes, with Putin as he is personal trainer for Putin. Putin is not bad really when it comes to hockey. If he had trained like Fetisov did, he would have been among the best players in the world.

What about my friend Iouri Kousnetsov? Well he loves Volleyball and we did play some and he did train a Swedish team to win SM. And he took Europe Cup gold. He did not say much about Russia except that some training they did was about weapons, not Volleyball, not that he remember anything about it, as it was pointing at a blueprint, nothing else. He was also a damn good technician with odd solutions for Networking and computers. He solved sh't that I could not solve. He did also teach me in how to make your team better, how to make your team mate to feel better when sh't hits the fan. He was special.  😄  He called me the professor and that was also a nickname of a Sovjet Hockey player, I think Makarov or Larinonov. Do I miss working with him? Well Computer technicians are usually not good at team working. I lead our team when it comes to talking with customers while he solved all damn hard problems. He also told me, go and talk to them while I fix this sh't, and he always did solve it. I did see him doing it but mostly not as I was away talking.  😄  Did I solve sh't alone, yes I did.

@RLTheCoolStudios

Well?  Did you try to post your questions at Reddit and what did they say? Do you have a link to your posting?

You will not get more replies here than this I guess really. The Nexus forums is mostly used for problem solving and mod WIPs and such, while the players them self, that knows the LORE, no doubt hang out at Reddit and FB. They do not care about WIPs nor other players issues, they just wanna chit chat and make odd comments. They will tell you what they think, that is a guarantee. It is rare I see anyone help anyone there with game issues really and I try to do that if I can.

If I do see Reddit posts with unanswered problems, well then I send them here to Nexus, not otherwise. Is Reddit bad? Well not at all really. It is mostly no sense postings about anything Fallout related, mostly just junk posts if you ask me, but never the less fun to read when I am bored. I do find ideas there sometimes and maybe I can make something out of all info there really. What I do know is that what they do post, is about the things in Fallout that they do enjoy and that gives a hint again what to do next if you are out of ideas that is. Try it, and report back here. Be prepared for any kind of response though as the moderators are not that hard there, but that differ from reddit to reddit as each has its own leaders and judges. I guess you do not have much of a choice really. Do post a link to your posting as I wanna see the responses myself.

Extremely interesting 120 year old discovery from the sea floor. I did know about this and also Caeser Nero's wine robots, but still...  It is amazing and can be used in a Fallout quest as well. Also, the old Greek's knew the world was round and they did also calculate the size, more precise than Columbus did. Well Columbus was not mathematician for sure, just a dreamer, idiot, jerk, psycho and brave explorer, nothing else. He manage to make a fool out of himself more than ones. Lost everything in the end because of his idiotic actions. Well this is not about him at all, just a notice, an observation done after seeing so much info about him lately. He made himself infamous.

@RLTheCoolStudiosI did reread some older posts and a specific quest could be made for gathering resources for making solar panels, so what is needed?

  • Coal for heat
  • Stone for glass
  • Lead for reflexions
  • Clay for oven and to hold the melted glass
  • Minerals, just a few, but still some that is available in the desert.

Making 3D models is what I am good at. See my portfolio. Do have in mind that my art is based on light and light positions. Making a melter for glass should be easy really. When it comes to light, you already solved that issue as we must have some form of light at the construction site to begin with, but sun light will do...  Do we need electricity to make glass?  No way. We need a lot of heat and also airbags, with a high flow of heat into the oven. If I recall or guess right, we need 1100 C to melt rock. Gravel is best to use, fine gravel. Is there gravel in the desert?  😉

So making such quests should be easy. So how to do it realistic in game?

  • We need a pile of gravel
  • pile of coal
  • A cauldron made from clay, well or Iron, but then we first need to make the Iron cauldron.
    • Will it not melt?  Yes, at 1500 C degrees, so if the oven gets to hot, we get a meltdown and that could be cool to implement as well. I have made animations but never for the game or as a NIF but at 3D art school, a lot. Damn...  Is it fun? Well I do not answer that right now. Making CGI is extremely tedious and stressful for sure and I prefer networking really...  The stress within the CGI business is not about art, it is about Production fast and at low cost.
  • We can replicate the 1400 century way of making glass, like they ised to make it in Venice. Why Venice?  See the James Bond 007 movie Moonraker and then  you know why.  :D
  • We do have the models in game but they are limited to a single site so we need a way of making more. There are no extra available in New Vegas so new one must be made.
  • We need to find a way to make new generators, but lets get back to that later.

To advanced? I do think so really. Realistic?  YES!!!!  Is it possible to pull off??  YES it is.

Have I made 3D for games before?  Well only for the last 19 years, yes...  😉

My Oblivion Alchemy experiment 2008: This made me leave the game as I failed with light and collisions and I got so extremely pissed off. FPS 5 in this bloody room. I know better today really. Well I did learn a lesson as I do not have that issue in my 2020 Oblivion project, not at all. I also learned how to code obse to make performance as high as possible and it is not so special or unique really, just common sense and knowledge about scripting in and with these older games. Papyrus solve this per auto in Skyrim and F4 with lower script priority, while FNV, F3 Morrowind and Oblivion do not as each script runs every damn frame. -> Quest scripts solve everything really.

50943496121_83e37e9cfb_h.jpg

Scandinavian Runes everywhere. hidden messages...  😉  I loved using runes everywhere in my projects.

Try to read this one at my old frames from 2005:

6496-1-1194544401.jpg

More stuff like that here at my flickr

Still, you do not need to make this alone. I think I am a good team player, maybe... I did a lot of team wortk for Oblivion 2006-2008 and some for Morrowind 2005 as well, made laundry stuff for Elynda, called Elynda's Laundry. Irons, washing machines, Iron boards and similar house stuff, not modern but more Victorian style I guess.  😉  Well, it is your project after all, not mine.    😄  I can only share ideas, and maybe resources. Maybe I do something similar myself?  Not right now as I am making a huge Quest series, but I sure need a break from it time to time. Making quests is not always fun, as it is bloody boring mostly. The result is fun to play how ever.

I cannot find Elyndas Laundry, but I did find one mod she made and another video about how we started to make cloth in Morrowind, as all is gone, why? We uploaded all our stuff to sites that no longer exist, thats why. I did find one of Elyndas mods though. Nothing special, but still, she had some cool ideas and was fun to work with.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tEk4kY4bRA

Something is odd with these links. 😮

I did find something else, I did made boots for Canadian Ices robes.  😄  She is the only modder I have in my FB and we still chat, time to time.  😄  She left gaming 2008.  😕

Noo links are working properly...  😮

I give up...  😕

4bb4f41b-2178-4a86-a2fd-8760f59c5712

It is her own char we see here, with that hair, head band and her make up. Canadian Ice. She was first on the skimpy stuff at Morrowind as well.  😄 Pioneer, within clothing. Well we do not debate clothing, do we? Glass making is the subject for this posting. She design real clothing these days, mostly for her dolls as she loves dolls, for some odd reason. Is it any good?  Yes, it is amazing stuff she is still making. A biker girl, hard as rock really, still she is a friend, no doubt. Her real name? Well that is a NO no no no. 😉  Canadian Ice?  Yes.  😄  She made mods long before I joined that game 2004 and also joined her team even, which I never regret as it was there I learned all this in the first place. She want to have privacy, from any form of gamer's. 😉  I cannot blame her really.

My old and dusty shoes and boots, for Oblivion, BAB body, would fit Exnen's body as well, if I recall right. They used to use the same base body model after all, just edited some details if I recall rightt, and that was it. Was it fun making all shoes and boots textures? No it was not but I love when colors fits, as a perfectionist so I forced myself making them. Bab, Exnen and Canadian Ice was pleased and that is was did count. It made their stuff better as a whole complete set of dresses. Shoes dresses, nice looking NPC's well you name it. We had fun, thats it.  😄  My GF also made voice acting for my shop and I did make AI packages for the shop as well, to much really. The shop moves around all over Oblivion in a weekly schedule.

13823-4-1194470380.jpg

problem solved with BBcode...  😕 😄

Moonraker?  A boring movie really...  It do show of Venician glass making.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87MO-gtYFT8

Still, it was my first Bond film I saw. I did also see Star Wars 4 - 1977 at the cinema, and that was a THRILL!"!!!!   😮  Imagine a 13 year old lad, hungry for SF, seeing that movie?  I was in heaven.

Well, honestly, making a couple of 3D models, would not be an issue and it would also be a break from the quest writing that I am doing. It does have a higher priority for me though. How much time is needed for making models? Well, not much really. I have not done it so much, well some models for F4 last summer, but if you know how to walk and ride a bike, you never forgot how to make 3D, well maybe 3-10 hours for a model maybe? IDK!!  Then we have the textures and that is not a problem as well.  😄   Well 10h for a single model. Is it worth it?  YES!!!   😄  I guess it might be cool making such stuff.

What is so special with Venician glass from around 1400? Well it was pure and it was flat. It was a death sentence if you smuggled that knowledge out from Venice and some did finally pull that off in the end and then all glass problems was solved all over the world. Finally...  😄  Glass in a Solar energy plant, should not be flat, as it should have a parabolic form, but flat will do really. We have them already in game but not the process of making them, not yet.  😄

How did glass looks like in game with my latest model from around 2020?  Well like this:
