@RLTheCoolStudiosI do think about the year 463, how ROME stopped to work over a single night.

Rome was sacked by the Barbarians. The Emperors mom was forced to marry the barbarian. All Legion Salaries was withdrawn imidiatly, eberyone had to find their own way home as best as they where able to. No laws, no nothing, everything was suddenly gone. Well not the earth it self, not Europe, but the laws and Security and the good life in Rome was gone. Europe was drawn into the Dark Ages, that existed for 1000 years, with a lot of suffering. The city of Rome itself, went down from 1 million citizens to 12000, because the water stopped in the channels and the river was pure poison with cholera. Roman people did s#*! them selves to death. The buildings declined fast.

I do recall the movie King Arthur did explain this very well. The King Arthur in that movie, was a Roma soldier, that suddenly was out of a job and income. What would he do about it? Well it was not easy nor a walk in a park for sure. Did he suceed? Well yes, until he met his worsed foe ever. He was of course killed. Did he exist really? I do not think so as it is nothing but a legend, a legend made in this dispare. It is also a part of the series the Vikings.

Lets see if I can find the trailor of that old movie King Arthur. the Vikings is easier to find for sure. I do recall that I really liked that movie, as it all made sense. The movie starts at the daily Roman life at emperor Hadrian's Great wall, that did divide England and Scotland as the Scots refused to join Rome and Rome could not win over them, that was impossible. Why? Where would they get all manpower to do it? Leave Jerusalem, Egypt, Greece, Germany, to get the whole legion to Scotland? No way. That was impossible. Rome had grown too big. If the legion had done it, they would had lost all the other provinces so that was out of the question.

Here we do see the fall of Hadrian's wall. Romans are fleeing for their lives. The legion is falling apart.

I guess this video is better really

When everything was lost, all money and gold gone, no resources left, well the outcome was Dark ages. So many died. Europe was in chaos. It was not only the Scots that did rebel as everyone all over the known world rebelled. This movie just explains a small part of what did happen that year of 463. Did the ordinary Roman citizen really know what was going on? Nope. The city of Rome was to big for the news to really spread. The decline did happen over a much longer period, but it did decline, not rebuild it self. Nothing ever rebuild it self.  😄  Chaos is the normal state of everything.

Well I did edit the last message so you could also peek at the second film I did add, as that one explains it better I guess.  😄  It is so depressing seeing it really. Not a happy movie at all. It is best to just see the whole movie if you can find it, and is interested that is as it was damn well made and good as well, still depressing.

As for the bugs, there are NVAC and the 4GB Patcher.

@RLTheCoolStudiosYes. I use both and my game runs perfect. So damn good.

I do get the impression not many knows anything about the old Rom,an Empire and the true Legion?

  1. It was first a Kingdom 700-aprox 400 BC
  2. turned into a democracy around 400 BC
  3. Turned into an Empire by Julius Caesar around 50 BC

US senate is based on French and the old Roman Senate. Julius Caesar and Trump are very similar to each others. Julius Did succeed in making Rome into a Dictatorship. Caesar means Kaiser in German = Emperor. So Julius Caesar did invent the word Emperor he also invented the modern Calendar we use today, edited around 1500 to its final version. Julius was married to the queen Cleopatra of Egypt and they had a son. He was killed in the senate, by 7 senators with daggers.

How big was the Roman Empire at its peak? All borders guarded by the real Legion?

1920px-Roman_Empire_Trajan_117AD.png

Look at the straight line above England, that is where the Emperor Hadrian's Wall was built and this is what Rome did look like when he ruled. He ordered the wall to be built to keep the barbarian Scots out of the Britaina province, well England that it is called today, by the Anglo-Saxons, that invaded England after Rome fell apart. So from where did the Anglo-Saxons come from??  Denmark and Holland.  That year, everyone started to move around all Europe, no one was safe anywhere. It is called the BIG human migration. Where would you go? Well no where??  Where to be safe?  No where at all. All laws ended 463, just simple as that. Anarchy for 1000 years, Christianity since the year 300 when it became the Roman city religion. Before that, they did crucify Christ.

Damn, I do recall a funny movie about the crusifiction of Christ and I did see it at the movies. Monty Python's Life of Brian. Damn was that one hilarious? YES. Let's follow the one that killed Christ in this movie.  😄  The judes did accuse him for a lot of things but the Romans held the law, and they just needed to make the judeen king happy. That king was also best friend with the real Roman Emperor Claudius Caesar and they did grow up together as well, in the city of Rome. Claudius did write about him in his book, his memories. Not a fun book to read really. Julius Caesars book is not fun to read either.  😄  But they sure knew how to make a story of them selves. Julius wrote his whole book, to send it in small pieces to the Roman senate, to keep them informed of his campaign against France, the so called Gallian Wars, before he marched to Rome, took it all over in a civil war. He also later tried to invade Britain, but failed. It was Caesar Caligula that invaded Britain and succeed and he also ate his own baby, alive, that sick bastard. The Switcher guard, the Emperors own life guard had enough and killed him the very same same day and made Claudius into Emperor instead. They where all sick in their heads, Syphilis and stuff like that makes anyone crazy. Caesar Tiberius had a big syphilis mark on his scull.

So, according to this crazy movie, the year 33 AD in Jerusalem. This did happen  😄

The end of that movie, I did not know if  I would laugh or cry, but everyone did learn to sing this song.

There is so much material about the Romans. I guess I end it with the death of Caesar Caligula. According to the book that Caesar Claudius wrote, he had just eaten his own baby, that he had with his own sister, and that would had made him into a powerful god. Damn, we could use that info making a quest really.  😄   This is so depressing...  😕  The second most crazy Caesars in history and I guess only Caesar Tiberius was more crazy. What I had forgotten is how nice the German uniforms did look like in this TV-Series. The Swiss guard still guard the Pope but they use 1400 fashion now but they did that for 2000 years now. Caesar Constantin became the first pope around 350 AC when he became Christian and he formed and built Constantinople in Turkey and moved there as well. I do think it was Tiberius who started to use the Swiss guard for his own protection or Augustus, after the murder of Julius.

Damn...  I saw this at the Swedish Television yesterday... Rome in 3D. The city it is of course but still, Rome, the center of the known world back then and also the biggest city in the world at that point in time. Filthy, crowded, beautiful, ugly, well it had it all and hot public bathes, public gladiator games, violence...  It was a very dangerous place to be in, if you was not careful.

The TV-Series Rome is extremely detailed and very well played, based on a series of books, written at the same time the events took place, saved in Madrid Spain and in Alhambra Spain by the Muslims. If they did not save the books, they would had been gone forever. The library in Alexandria also had loads, but the Christian fanatics did burn it all down.

How effective was the Roman Legion in battle? Well here we see the war in Gallia, lead by Julius Caesar. That is how the TV-series did start. They where extremely tactical, like a machine.

@RLTheCoolStudios

Can we learn anything from the Fallout 463?  Yes. Will we repeat it again?  Yes.  Human kind is to stupid to learn by their mistakes or look back in history.

Was it anything good with the Romans? Yes, they did develop the society to a level never seen before and most citizens really did get it better, well specially after Julius Caesar took over the power as some nobility and senators did steal land from farmers, without consequences and Julius did dislike that so he became the peoples choice, they did vote him to become the dictator. It was very high strategic and political game. Very dangerous as well. The dictator had an important role to play, specially during war, during the democracy period. he had one more vote than every senator had. Like a president.

Was it not a democracy before Julius Caesar? Yes, but only the nobility was able to become a senator. You had to be born in the right family, so it was not a democracy like the first one Athene had where all men had one vote, with no ending debates or dialogues. That was chaos and no slaves nor women where able to vote.

Resources are limited. Rome did sack the whole Europe, used up everything. They did destroy Europe. The Fallout after the destruction lasted for 1000 years but the turn came in Spain with the Muslims, as they did build the first modern University, again...  Roman's had those as well, but they where gone for 500 years like everything else

Was banking allowed during the Dark Ages between 463 to 1450? Nope. It was considered as theft to take rent from loans, which did stop all kind of economical thrive. That law did change first in Italy Florence with the currency Florin, which was suddenly used by all European kingdoms. Demici, the bank owner became rich, also lend a lot of Florins to Spain, who used it for World exploration. The expedition to America was paid by that specific bank. Leonardo Da Vinci was friend with the bank owners and made a lot of paintings of them as well and so did Michelangelo and Da Vinci's students. During this renaissance, Europe slowly rebuilt it self from Anarchy and Chaos, still a lot of wars and upraising did occur. Before Demici, the Jews did had a role of bankers, band where allowed to take rents but they did not succeed in it very good and did not start the capitalism.

Why do I talk so much about Rome?  Well it was in Rome the modern world was formed, military strategic did reach its peaks, well it was a fascinating state. Well the Greece did the same before Rome and the Egypt's too, Yes, but that is not as well documented or the Mesopotamia's in Iran. Rome did beat them all. The Legion of Julius Caesar.

FNV

We play FNV and the Legion is there for a reason. I would rather see them as the Vikings, as that do reflect their behavior much better. The Legion was bigger than the Vikings later ever was and had a much bigger impact on Europe as well. The Vikings did something good, as they did force the victims to build protections against the raiders. Castles did pop up everywhere around 1100 by the Vikings them selves, the Normands. As they both attacked and defended.

Why did the Christians make banking illegal? IDK...  Religion was everything, the pope did form the catholic laws. The priests was extremely powerful and they did hate the old Roman religion. Is religion good and does it make sense? Nope. Is capitalism good? Yes it is. It makes the world to tick. If we did not have money, what would we had done? How could I have been paid for my services as an administrator or scientist or game maker and artist?  IDK?? Did the pope really hate capitalism? Which pope you ask? Some where just criminal scum, specially during the late 1400 at the same time banks where reinvented. So they did something good really. The most evil pope ever was Borgia. Was that a good series? Well, I did not see all episodes as it was to depressive. Do I really care about all nasty things Borgia did? Well, No, not really. I would had hated him really. How did he come to power? Politics, nothing else. Was he a believer in Christ? Well no, not at all as he did everything against what the Christianity did stand for. Incest? Yes, torture, yes. Murder? A lot. Did he live in celibacy? Noo way he did. He caused big scandals, that is what he did do. And he might be responsible for capitalism.  😄

Still, can we use the old stories in the game. Yes we can and also make them fit perfect I guess. We can draw New Vegas out of the disrepair in a similar way as the Muslims did in Alhambra and what the renaissance did in Italy that ended the dark ages, the middle period, formed law and order, made police, guards, military, and prisons...  Law and Order...  Democracy, that works mostly best really. Who do not want power over their own life and also feel safe? Do I feel safe? Yes I do. My life is good.  😄  Would I had been safe in old Rome? Well not at all really. I would most likely starve to death if I am thinking about it or joined the Legion and get payed as a bloody soldier, well that would had suited me just fine or become an inventor and architect, invent new weapons and destruction.

So what about America? Was Columbus the first making it there? No way. The Vikings did but a fight between the Indians and a Viking forced them all to leave for their lives. Why did the fight start? An Indian touched a viking sword, and was killed in the process. No one ever touches a vikings sword and live to tell the tale. So did 30 vikings had any chance against 2 million Indians?  Well make a guess.  😄  They fled back to Greenland again, which became a Danish State and still is. Who did write that story about Erik the Red? Well the Islander and Icelandic leader Snorre Sturlasson did the year around 1250, 240 years before Columbus made his journey. What did happen to Snorre's books, how where they saved? Well The Swedes did capture a Danish ship and the books where there, onboard towards Copenhagen but they did end up in Stockholm instead. Why did the Christian Swedes saved those nasty books that also did explain Thor, Odin, Valhalla and the old religions? Well who knows? They just did save it. That religion is base for a lot of Tamrelic Lore in TES. It also explains why the Vikings was so aggressive. If you did not die with the sword in your hand, you did not enter Valhalla and you came the HEL instead. Who wanted to come to HEL?? That is also why Christianity did win in the end. Everyone wanted to get to the paradise after death.  😄  No one really wanted to die with their swords in hand. This also explain why they where forced out by the Indians. They where nuts and a big threat.

It was his son, Leif Eriksson that did sail to USA, not Erik the Red himself.
