sornan
Hello After following a few video tutorials, I finally got my first customized assault rifle in game, and although it's working well, it seems overpowered and I'm not completely sure exactly what is determining the overall damage output. My main question is about both bullet type and setting the base damage on the rifle. Basically, does both the bullet type and the base damage setting on the rifle affect overall damage output, or is it just the base damage value where in such a case I'd assume the bullet type is more cosmetic? For my first "test" assault rifle, I made a new custom Malestrom (copied from the base version), and then switched it to using .50 Cal rounds, set base damage to 300. It does work, yet is probably too powerful, as it one shots everything without even having to hold the trigger for full auto. I'm trying to figure out what exactly will adjust the damage effectively. The weapons I'm making are all Legendary, so all weapon mods are installed for maximum effectiveness and damage output from those weapon mods, and hence this aspect will be a constant. I have one other question - is there an ideal way to test the output damage in game? Right now I'm just going after random enemies, I suppose there are no "target dummies" or similar for more effective testing? Â Any help is very much appreciated :) Â
HeyYou
Base damage is just that. Anything else, ammo type, legendary effects, internal mods, etc, apply a multiplier. Try reducing base damage to 100, or 50. See how that feels. Either that, or look at base damage for the Hard Target, (which also uses .50 cal ammo) and set it that.
