Jamisia
My character simply cannot move. WASD, F, Alt, pretty much every standard keybind do not work. I can only work with tilde, alt-tab and escape. Tried but failed: - change the ini-files; - change in-game settings; - start skyrimse.exe (not the skse-loader); - a mod to alter the keybinds; - turned off Steelseries GG (I have a keyboard and a mouse from Steelseries); - re-installing SKSE and SkyUI; - switched from SkyUI to Nordic UI; - removed Vanargand animations: The end result is, so far, always the same: stuck. STUCK! This all started after I updated the Community Shaders. After installing, the loader could not find the official exe. So I downgraded and tried everything desribed above. Could it be updates from either Steelseries GG or Path of Exile 1? Seems farfetched, but who knows. The last thing I could do is to uninstall all the mods, Vortex and then re-install the base AE game, but I'd rather not. I already made a list of all the mods currently running which makes over four pages, with two columns on each. Re-installing everything: no, thank you. What solutions are there that you know of and would probably never occur to me?
IsharaMeradin
Check your keyboard language settings in the OS. Some keyboard languages redefine what the keys do, and the keypress would, in that case, send a different value than expected by the game. Have you tried testing the game by disabling your mod list and trying the game without mods active? That would at least determine if a mod might be the cause or not. If your game is on Steam, you could try verifying the game cache. You are using Vortex so if mod files get changed due to verification, you can always tell Vortex to use the staging file rather than the one in the Data folder. But most mod files shouldn't be touched by the verification process. And you wouldn't need to uninstall Vortex and the mods. Just uninstalling the game and reinstalling it to the same location should work. Just don't open Vortex during that process so it doesn't wipe out any game related file paths. Afterwards, just redeploy the mods in Vortex. There may be other solutions too. Feel free to wait for others to chime in as well.
DirebearCoat
My situation was kind of similar to yours where my game stopped responding to some keyboard commands, but others kept working... If it's a USB keyboard, have you tried unplugging it from your PC, wait about ten seconds and reconnecting it? Maybe the drivers got kind of wonked and the game can't understand some of your keyboard commands. I logged out of the game, unplugged, waited ten seconds and replugged. Then logged back into the game, normally. My lack of technical language and understanding makes my advice questionable, but unplugging and repluging my USB keyboard fixed my issue. kryten397
Since you didnt post your mods installed it will have to be a wild stab in the dark with an iron dagger. The only mod that i know of that causes this issue is ENB Input disabler (SKSE plugin)but 1.6 1170 game version only(player cannot move permanently most of keyboard/gamepad functions dont work) It has since been fixed-- so if installed do you have latest version. Also heard of this happening when the game has been downgraded to an earlier version. But since i never do that i dont know if there is a workaround /fix for that Edited December 10 by kryten397
TenaciousDSquare
Do you have a controller connected to your PC? Keyboard and mouse are disabled if Skyrim detects one connected. 1. Edit SkyrimPrefs.ini 2. Under [MAIN] 3. Set bGamepadEnable=

I found a SkyrimPrefs.ini in Appdata\Roaming\Vortex\Skyrimse\Profile, but setting "bGamepadEnable=0" there as well changed nothing. 17 hours ago, DirebearCoat said: My situation was kind of similar to yours where my game stopped responding to some keyboard commands, but others kept working... My saves folder contained over 28k in save-files (4GB all together), which I deleted. However, some saves did work, but only when starting from SkyrimSe.exe. Then I started re-installing, which generated this crashlog; so all the save-files where removed. Now I'm going to re-install the base, without starting Vortex (I have the SE/AE from GOG). Jamisia
Update: I re-installed the game. No change, still unable to move. I bought a controller (the 2020 Xbox gamepad with usb-c cable), but that didn't change anything either. Now I think I have no choice but to disable mods and work from there. always start with the Realm of Lorkhan; perhaps that mod is the issue.
