I was joking. It’s just that our video cards are much more expensive. Due to sanctions and all that... 5090 is available for pre-order... Costs ~10k $. 5080 ~4k$. 😁 4090 started at ~1.5k, now ~3k, 4080 ~1.5k. In general, everyone makes great money from sanctions and flagships are no longer accessible to everyone. The maximum that I can afford financially is a 4060ti, well, or a Radeon. rx7600xt, or rx7700.

Sorry, I didnt mean to lord it over other posters with my gear list.

I got into gaming relativly recently and am excited to have a nice rig.

It pains me to know that sanctions make life harder in other countries to include computer gear...

..part of me just wants to fly to some members places, with a care package of nice CPUs/GPUs and other parts to give out, alas that is not realistic.

Don't worry. I don't really care about that. I don't play modern games because I find it boring. I don’t even play fo4, I just use it as a renderer for models. For fo4 my PC is more than enough. If I were a professional 3D artist, I would find a way to buy what I need without any problems.

Wow, that's ... pricey/insane. I bought a 4080 Super (as GPU in my new PC) some months ago, it was for 900 Euro. A 4090 would have been about 2000 Euro, so more than double the price, and with waiting time. As one Euro is worth about one dollar, a price of 1500 $ for a 4080S is hefty, even if you count taxes in. I thought that PC stuff is cheaper in the US (?) than in Europe?

I don't know how much they cost in the USA. I don't live in the USA. I live in a country that is under US sanctions. Officially, supplies of 4090 are prohibited. But unofficially, of course, they are supplied without problems, only through intermediary countries with a markup of ~40%. The same goes for 5090. Only 5090 are now not cheap everywhere. Even in Taiwan, as far as I heard, the first batches were sold out for ~$8-12k. But we don’t have any extra charges for amd video cards. For example, the price for rx7600 starts at ~$350. rx7900 can be purchased for ~$840.
