Constructive criticism in other words "anything but complaints telling us how bad it is. So that we can continue marching on like nothing is happening." Basically unless you have something to say for improving the design everyone hates with minor concessions. that don't involve SCRAPPING IT LIKE PEOPLE WANT YOU TO. or you paid for premium you do not exist.

Respectfully, it's quite the opposite. We really appreciate focused criticism as it's easier to action if needed. For example, saying "I don't like it", or "It's ugly" is fine and a completely valid opinion, but it's more helpful to us If you can point to something specific you find harder to do. We've read all the responses in this thread and there are many improvements we want to make — with this update we're in a much better place to make incremental refinements more quickly.

I understand, if I remember correctly there was a user with visual impairments involved in the discussion who found the higher contrast helpful, which makes balancing different accessibility needs tricky. That's why were still open to feedback, we want to make it right for as many people as we can. We can reduce the contrast significantly in the areas we've managed to nail down as problematic while still maintaining the AA WCAG rating. It just may require a bit of back and forth.

You can still get an AAA rating with lower contrast than the one you implemented. So it can't be just the AA rating fueling the decision to have the most extreme high-contrast option.

I came here because I just noticed that I couldn't use the sorting anymore.

For instance, sorting by "Last Updated" doesn't actually sort by last updated. Nothing sorts as it should, it just displays a random order of things.
There's less info visible, there's a lot of space in between every entry. In my opinion, it looks like an off-brand Yu-Gi-Oh game.

I see there's a ton of backlash, followed by staff members dodging complaints, hedging, stonewalling, being passive-aggressive, all the while nudging elbows with their clique of hypernormalized premium members. A lot of the responses test positive for LLM writing, too. You know you are dealing with corporate red herring when someone's aggressively smiling and shaking hands while looking off to the side. "Look how great we look, look how bad all the complainers look, we're the civilized bunch."

I wouldn't have come here if sorting actually functioned to the point where it's not just so useless that I might as well manually scroll through a full list of all the mods for one given game and look at all the stats myself. To be clear, that is exactly what I am doing right now - I am literally scrolling through a list of random mods with no other option. Sorting is completely broken.

The decision to create an 'include/exclude' tag selection dropdown menu is nice, though. That's all I can say.

Any ETA when the next update will roll out? Trying to use the current search/filter is very much an unpleasant experience with how it keeps resetting if you want to spend more than 10 minutes looking for stuff. (I know this is being worked on)

one of my responses as far as I know never got approved like 5 pages back or so. it was me actually praising the new color scheme. as that is quite literally the only aspect I do like. but my reason for liking it is niche and too small a group to be considered in actual feedback. I have an old eye injury that makes me highly photosensitive. the new  colors cause no monitor brightening and thus no pain. however that is largely the only thing in this entire update I have liked. I don't want my pc mod site looking like a tablet. I had to spend 20 minutes refinding everything so I could use it. my normal lighting quick use of the site after a decade of practice and patronship has been cut in half. all in all its a really bad design on multiple fronts. fully quantifying every little thing that makes it bad. would take me hours of analyzing the new design for you. and it would be almost exclusively purely negative.

Simply put folks you gave it a good effort. But you took an L this time. Hold your heads up, go back to the drawing board. You have an infinite amount of chances to nail it. So long as you don't piss off the community enough to just migrate at their first chance. Nexus is a work horse. Its been here forever and is well established. Don't lose that userbase for the sake of ego. Show some humility, and make it right.

Hey @deadhitter1, thanks for the feedback. Can you show us where the sorting is broken pls? We've had a couple of people thinking the 'updated' date on the mod tile (in the image below) is the 'uploaded date'. When you're sorting by 'Last updated', it should be sorting by the date on the left (ie 4 minutes ago).

@xRay4004 can you explain in a more detail what you mean here pls. Do you mean on the quick search, or the mods listing page?

Hi, design person, artist and retired signwriter here. Constructive crit with some humour (I hope) coming up!

Although it's not exactly about the mod pages, it does relate to the home page with all the info graphics on. The little images are mostly absolutely fine but what sticks in my professional craw is the words that are split onto two lines:

     INTERVI

EW

No no no!

I was always told that splitting a word like this is bad form. Every time I see this, I cringe. It looks bad and unprofessional. Better to make the word smaller and fit it into one line, really. Maybe I'm old-fashioned (I am old after all!) but please, stop splitting title words into those two lines. Please don't see this as trolling, I really just hate it though.

Two words, two lines is fine. One word split onto two lines, bad.

AlienSlof 🙂

PS - loving being purple! It's my fave colour!

They should at least split it at its natural splitting point,

I suppose you call it quicksearch now the search that opens the window now. If you search for something and set to sort by date and then search for something else it resets to endorsement.Same goes for if you just want to filter "mods". I remember this being addressed by staff earlier.
