On the game page in the media section you now have a big "play" button bang in the centre of the image. This doesn't look very good where that image has a person's face in it, which is quite common. Can we have that button in the corner perhaps? Or not at all, like on the media page itself?

Update -  Game and Images Quick Search

You may have seen the teaser of Coming Soon quick search results. We're happy to say it's ready. The new quick search now includes games and images in the beta. Please give it a go and see what you think.

User search: 

We have introduced user search that searches users directly, rather than displaying mods uploaded by a user. Let us know what you think!

 

We have still been working hard on various tweaks, bug fixes and improvements based on the feedback we have received across multiple channels and the site data we are looking at. This includes some nice quality of life updates like keyboard navigation and more work on performance improvements.

Really not liking the search change, very frustrating having to keep changing the search to mods every single time i try and use it. I don't care about "all the content", i use the site for mods, mods should be the default search unless i otherwise change it.

Can we have an option to filter the mods we already downloaded? Because some modmanagers doesn't help us to maintain the knowledge of mod updates. Thank you.

Quick Search - Favourite games

When you open the new quick search, you'll be prompted with a list of games to make it easier for you to go directly to the game page that interests you. 

If you have set a game as one of your favourites, it will be listed before typing in the search. 

Any users that have not set favourites or not signed in will see a list of some of the most popular games on the site.

The Mod Browsing Beta will be closing on 10th March. Thank you for all your feedback over both the open and closed betas, which we have run across the last few months!
We will begin to push those changes live on the website. To ensure that this does not cause issues that disrupt your use of the site, we will be rolling out the various changes over the next few weeks. 

What is changing?

• Updated styles across many different pages
• New search experience
• New Games page
• New Game Home page
• New Mods Listing page
• New Image Listing page
• New Video Listing page
• Moving all pages to the www.nexusmods.com domain. Pages will no longer be hosted on next.nexusmods.com
  Plus lots more!

Are we stopping work on mod browsing once the rollout is complete?

No. We still have some work left to do, including further improvements to the search experience and any performance improvements we deem necessary. We'll also be very carefully considering your feedback from additional HotJar surveys, the Forums and Discord. 

 

How have we been assessing your feedback?

We have been using various locations to gather feedback across the forums, feedback pop-ups, Discord, other community locations, and site usage data. 

Here is an overview of the feedback we have received from the pop-ups. 

Game listing pages scored 4.4/5 (113 responses)
Mod listing pages scored 4.3/5 (756 responses)
Game home pages scored 4.0/5 (1,219 responses)

We carefully evaluated all the feedback and made some difficult decisions about which changes to implement. In the end, our design reflects the collective input of the wider community, prioritising the features and adjustments that the majority of users wanted.

Using beta, I can't see the mod category filter any longer in mod search results, or any toggle option. Maybe I'm blind but I don't see it. Was that intentional? It was a very useful feature

Click the "Show filters" button, on the left, just under the game thumbnail.

I am not a fan of the Beta Design. It feels like it is built for mobile phones and tablets. But most people game on laptops and desktops. I keep having to reselect the game and mod section every time I want to use the search function. The layout of the search function in general has become more difficult to use and clutters the screen with a bunch of junk I don't care about. I don't want to see collections and screenshots and game lists when I'm searching for a mod, and I don't want to use more clicks to get to the same places I did with the old layout. Don't dare to try and use Ctrl to open something in a new tab, because it now pops up the search bar unless you have clicked on the empty space of the webpage. It looks really nice, but it doesn't feel nice. Feels like they took the Bethesda mod page and painted it with Nexus colors, and Bethesda mod page is a nightmare to use.
