Can you tell me where you are seeing this please?. You should still be seeing a game scoped download history when you click links to your download history when on a game page.

I checked both Firefox and Edge before the first post just to make sure. It was working yesterday like it always has been and when I went to look over some mods I downloaded last night for Metaphor I noticed my download history wasn't separating the games anymore. I tried clicking on a few other games like Cyberpunk then going to download history but still the same thing could just be me idk

I think we've identified what's wrong here and we're looking at it. Thanks for the feedback.

For me, the problem with the search function is that it only lists exact matches (in titles). For instance: if I were to looking for 'troll overhauls' on Skyrim SE's search abomination by typing in 'trolls', it would omit the most popular one since that one doesn't specifically has the plural in its title, and if I'd search for the singular 'troll', I'd get bombarded by tons of controller remaps, sweetroll replacers, and whatnot. I feel like this has lead to the keyword vomit in titles, in the hope they might show up on some searches; cause otherwise no one will find them without the exact wording used in the title. It's even worse if you're looking for a mod from a specific author, cause unless they're "vain" enough to put their own name in their mod titles, you'll only patches from others. So if you want to search for an author, you can't use the search function, but you'll have to go to the mods/all mods page instead, scroll down and search by uploader.

Whatever it is you claim to have done with the search feature hasn't impacted the results whatsoever. As far as I can tell, it only blocks your entire screen to show you some pictures with part of the titles, which isn't especially helpful without either the rest of the title and the description, and of course you'll have to be sure about your choice before clicking on one of the results, cause if you ain't, you can't just press back to go to the results anymore. I'm not saying the old quick-search interface was flawless, but it at least had some usage. This thing does not.

We have some more changes in the pipeline to expand the mod search to also check summaries and descriptions. We'll also consider whether we continue using wildcards or start using token search. With the example you've included, our future changes will improve that (i.e. "trolls" is in that mod's summary and description, so will return in the results). This should also mean authors no longer need to pack titles full of keywords.

We've added a new user search function too, I'm not sure if you've seen this. It didn't exist before.

The new search UI also supports normal browser shortcuts to open pages in new browser tabs, so if you want to avoid closing the search you could try CTRL + Left Click (etc.)

My Feedback:

  • I have almost 800 Mbps, and since the update, I’ve noticed longer delays when loading pages. Everything now takes a second longer before I can interact again. I already noticed this with the change to the mod authors' page, where there was a stark contrast between the regular mod page for games and the authors' page (the authors' page took longer to load).

  • I found the clearly segmented tabs and buttons of the previous design more readable. The newer darker tone makes it harder for my eyes to read the white text.

  • Why are "Popular Collections" always shown under "Trending Mods," and why do they take up so much space? I thought collections already had a separate tab. It just forces the user to scroll further to get to "More Mods" below it.

  • The "More Mods" tab now has bigger thumbnails for each mod, but it only displays 4 instead of 5 in a row, overall reducing the amount of information shown. The same issue applies to the "Trending Mods" section above.

  • The search function now takes up the entire screen when you click on the bar, which is a weird change. It shows a preview of mods that fit your search, but why? You're already going to press enter in a second anyway, making the preview useless clutter that covers your screen every time you quickly want to search for something. The previous preview didn’t take up the entire screen and had the same effect.

  • Why can I search for games in the search function when I’m already on a specific game’s mod page?

Overall, I’m frustrated by the lack of official acknowledgment.

I’m a paying customer, and it feels like I’m screaming into the void, with my feedback not mattering at all in the end.

There's quite a lot to unpack here, but I'll try to answer your points.

  • We're actively monitoring P90/95/99 load times on all the new pages and they're performing well across the board, we had strict goals not to slow the pages down. This might be something with your specific setup, or perhaps some other issue that's hard to diagnose. Can you give us some vey specific examples of which page is slower for you? What browser are you using? Do you have an extensions installed?
  • Sorry to hear that. Almost overwhelmingly the feedback has been positive, outside of this forum thread. We put surveys up on the pages for months and collected thousands of responses, 80% of which were positive. There's a feedback post here on this specific suggestion, but it only has 19 upvotes so we're not likely to knee-jerk and change this.
  • Collections are instrumental in making modding easier for users who are new to modding, so it is important they are given prominence on the page. They were not in a separate tab before. We are considering some changes to this section though, to reduce the scroll down to "More Mods".
  • The search is larger and more readable now, the feedback on this (to reiterate my point above) has been overwhelmingly positive outside of this forum thread. The old quick search also showed you a preview of your search, so that you can quickly find what your looking for and skip the full search results page.
  • You can search games on a specific game's mod page, so you can go to another game's mod page quickly.

The new UI is very laggy when scrolling through. But only when going further down for some reason.
I gotta agree though, the new design feels very lifeless, just for the sake of being modern

The old style at least had some soul to it, you knew hey yeah this is nexus. Now it just feels like your typical modern ui just for the sake of it.
Everything is so centered into the middle leaving the sides completely empty with nothing in it, at least stretch it out across the whole screen.

No background, nothing. It doesnt feel nice to scroll through. And removing the tabs for New 30 days etc and putting a drop down instead I feel is also not a good choice, its more clicks compared to before. Now I gotta click at least 2-3 times when I wanna see new mods made during that day compared to just once.

The new design is terrible because it feels spaced out poorly. I see less mods at once and have to scroll more to see more. I'm browsing on a computer monitor, not a f*#@ing phone screen. I don't need everything to be big and spacious, I need it concise and straightforward.

I agree, the backgrounds also look horrible and cheap, especially the way the color of some games diffusing into the background makes it feel like a cheap mobile UI. Spacing and background looked and felt a 1000 times better before the update.

40% of our users browse Nexus Mods on a mobile device, you're not the only user we are catering for. Whilst we always keep desktop users our focus (as modding happens on a desktop), we have to cater for everyone.

We're also an old website, with a really wide range of users across all demographics. Not everyone can cope with small, concise and densely packed information. Some users need content well spaced and easily readable. The new design accommodates everyone, regardless of your needs.

Please try to keep your feedback polite, swearing (even obfuscated) isn't pleasant or polite.
