Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

Wat a disaster is this.  I am forced now to make favorites for all teh https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods instead of https://www.nexusmods.com/games/starfield/mods as the new layout is just not working for me,  I have no idea who designed that new format, though I would not accept that design at all if I had ownership of the site.

So am i the only one on mobile seeing that mods dont exist on any game now? Which btw, you can fix this by deleting "games/" in the url. 

Never had this issue before and it's literally only on the new beta stuff. 

 

Edit - also my games section just loads Infinitely on the beta.

Edit 2 - oh and the only thing that loads is collections.

Let's hope that's a sign of them making (worthwhile) changes. Not even Collections are loading.

No, you're not the only one. They broke the site.

God I hate UI designers. "It looks fine on my 4k vertical monitor!" "All the users who willing used it liked it!" "Everyone who doesn't like it is a troll!" "Muh telemetry and data!" "We needed it more modern!" (read: bland)

Nexus basically has a monopoly on modding. The only thing that comes close is Steam Workshop. Of COURSE people are going to continue to use the site, grumbling to themselves, bearing yet another indignity. "People still use the site!!!" isn't a defense. 95%+ of users don't give feedback. Do most users even know there is a forum? Nexus ain't listening, so change the thread title to "Vent thread". It'd be more honest.

If Nexus wanted real data, they'd stick a one-click poll on the front page: Like the new look YES or NO. Have it be public too. (SPOILER: they'd rig it or claim brigading if they lost. Or just disappear it.) Better yet, have the old layout be optional, from a temporary banner and not buried deep in settings, and see how many switch back, I guarantee it will be sizable.

Nexus won't of course. They will never, never, ever admit they made something worse. And having an option to switch back might imply that their new design wasn't the best most wonderful gift ever graced to God's green earth. You ever meet UI designers? Not happening.

Yeah, clicking on collections, even tho it's the only thing that loads, once your in that section, it says there's nothing lol.

Well I go for the first one as that gives me a better overview on what I wna t, what is new.  I don't a table formatted crap layout. I am on a PC , NOT a TABLET !

For most PC users the result is practicaly unusable webpage now. Even ones with displays above HD resolution can't view much content due vertical design unfit for typical PC display, the choose of colors tire your eyes very quickly, the ones with average PC experiencing slowdowns. And last thing which begins to annoy me greatly - Nexus is more and more looking and behaving like an e-shop, rather than a place of modders.
