Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

Adding my voice to the choir. Saw the new page layout this afternoon & it's terrible. I browse Nexus only on my desktop PC. Is the new design meant to appeal to phone users? Are phone users now the majority of people who view Nexus? I wish we had the old layout back. The new site design is an eye sore. It's terrible to navigate & the minimalist theme serves no purpose other than to be a style choice. Things change, webpages change but this new look jumped the shark into a dumpster fire that is on train about to derail.

No, as one of the Designers said, earlier in the thread, only 40% of people look at the site using Mobile.
So I guess 40% outweighs 60%

Not sure if it has been mentioned/noticed, but with the new site design (which is ugly and unappealing, I installed an extension for Youtube when they did a similar thing there to fix what could be fixed) notifications don't display the entire text. Also under the new design, mods now show less of their description in the preview when searching, despite taking more screen space. How do you make everything take more space but show less information, and call that "good"?

So assuming they aren't going to change the UI because this new UI is a total eyesore. Can they at least change the colors, I'm not sure why but something about the colors is really messing with my eyes for some reason. Or better yet allow us (the user) to change the ui colors so it can be less of an eyesore. Also about the mobile thing, the only time that I use it, is when someone either messages me in my dms or on one of my mods.

You've lost like half the sites utility in pursuit of [supposed] style and what i guess is parity with the mobile version [which is pointless seeing that this is a site for modding PC games] of the site. Everything is now 1 or 2 more clicks to get anywhere meaningful, whereas before it was more streamlined. I'm not a web developer, but I have been on the net since the early 90s and I can say without a doubt that is a move in the wrong direction. This is not a situation where everyone is hating on the new thing just because. This is a bad move.

As everyone else has stated, this new UI is a downgrade. It not only bloats the images and tiles, so you can't see as much at once as you used to, but it also makes browsing the site more straining on the eyes since they decided to get rid of the light grey in favor of dark grey/black.

To whoever designed the UI I just have to ask why? You not only removed the color and uniqueness of the site. You also got rid of the soul in favor of cookie-cutter "sleek minimalism" modern web design. Is this for the 40% of mobile users even though you aren't modding PC games on mobile?
