SonderBain
There is a lot I actually like about this but a few things I don't. I agree that it feels a bit cluttered. I don't like how all media shows up in same feed. Maybe an option where you select one media section to show on the home page instead of having sfw images, nsfw supporter images and videos hobbled together. Aside from that I dont really have a use for the collections feed so it would be nice if I could hide it or replace with another feed. *Someone also mentioned being able to make collections without vortex. That would be really nice. I use MO2 so I cant run vortex on my main pc. I have to run it on my laptop that cant even really run skyrim just to update my collection lol. That's about it, I like how the site feels more modern in this version and will be happy to see it become the new normal eventually! Glitchfinder
So I just re-read most of this thread and I think that there's a decent way to resolve most complaints regarding the game page here. Unfortunately this would be a lot of work on Nexus's end: Give users settings to control which sections (game stats, trending mods, popular collections, more mods, media, and news) are shown to them on this page. Allow users to control the contents of these sections. In other words, let us pick whether media shows all media, just normal image, just supporter images, videos and supporter images, etc. While not strictly necessary, allowing users to determine the order of sections on the page could be helpful as well, since different people have different priorities. Some people might like to see latest images before mods, while other people might prefer to check out mod updates as a higher priority. While I noted it before, the context others have mentioned regarding the default collections often being outdated and unusable is important to take note of. There's only so much popularity-based sorting algorithm can resolve, so it might be worth looking into other sorting algorithms to determine which collections should be highlighted. 2
Ozzianman
Holy mother of wasted space. The more compact layout of the original is fine. Showing a lot of information at once is not bad, for a mod page it is good. Remove the line and unneccesary information bits as shown in the image below and reduce the padding. A bit more tidier. I do see how the stats on mods, collections etc... can be useful. Alternatively you can put that on the same line as the page tree. In the original, the background image with the content having a solid background guides where to look on the screen and makes it easier to read. The new design feels "too open" if that makes sense? Too much unused space. These small changes alone helps quite a bit if you guys are hellbent on sticking to this. I would prefer that you guys stop with the wacky background stuff you are trying to do, keep it simple with the backgrounds like you are doing in the normal version.
jencarlos812
Checked the New UI, looks OK so far, nothing major changed to alienate the users but found an annoying detail. Update times are now calculated and shown in Days, Weeks, Months instead of users ability to learn exact Date is taken back so this is a Reverse Update on the Mod Updates because we're losing precision and saying "This mod is updated 8 months ago" is a vague information as it can be crucial to know which of the 30 days it's updated since Stardew is a mod heavy game and matching mod versions sometimes need knowing when the exact date of update is released. So please don't make this Date change thing as I'd rather have "This mod is updated at 14th June 2024" instead of merely seeing "This mod is updated 8 months ago" which forces me to calculate it back instead to extract the date. This can also be an option but I'm pretty sure most of your users will ask to keep the Exact Date instead of Rounded Date.
Bartinga
1) What I would like to see for the mod-list is an option to remove (disturbing) mod-page pictures with 1 click. 2) Another feature I'd like to see is a mechanic that can effectively assist users troubleshooting. Right now after a game update, when there's for instance, an issue like the game started crashing after, you have to go through all your (hundreds of) mods to find the one causing it. Would really be helpful if there was a "Reporting Point" where users can report issues with mods, what they did for the issue to occur, and what they eventually did to solve it. Users helping users. Or you could simply type "crash" and it'll automatically pop all the mods that YOU have, that other users reported the most crashes from. teabael
Hmm... I feel like this may be an echo of what some of the others have said, but it remains true. The front page of Beta is too clunky and there's a lot of wasted space. It could be more condensed by using only the smaller thumbnails for 'trending mods'. I don't believe highlighting the trending mods section with two giant, in-your-face images is the experience I'm looking for. When I load the page, I look to see what new mods are available. I exclusively wish to see the new mods. Whether or not a mod is trending is irrelevant to me. Scrolling past a lot of junk to get to what I want is counterproductive and counterintuitive. On that note, the 'popular collections' section is completely useless and a waste of space. I'd just as well get rid of it. For the background, the gradient is too stark of contrast and too disruptive on the eye. If you're going to contrast the background, it should be less noticeable. The background isn't the emphasis of the page and should provide something that can seamlessly blend into the background when looking for information. The Beta version is too distracting and abrupt. As far as the mod page itself goes, it's not terrible, but it's not great. Instead of seven rows with tiny icons and difficult-to-read text, perhaps it could be dropped to six instead. Dropping it to six and increasing the size of the thumbs and text would probably make it run smoother too. In terms of performance, Beta is a laggy beast. For what I do like, the new filters accessible on the left are nice. I can see myself using that quite often.
tt7crocodiles
I like filters but I don't like the new color scheme at all. It has too much contrast where you don't need it and too little contrast where you do need it. And it has too much black and white in general. It's very tiring for the eyes. PS: and I want list back, I dont like tiles
Franzosisch
Even more wasted space than before. Game homepages are even worse with this, showing even less than they did before. The color is also awful. Makes the page difficult to read at times because everything slightly blends together. Why are you so resistant to remove the blank spaces on either side of the website?
a1steaksa
1. When switching tabs on a mod's page, it would be nice if the page didn't momentarily shrink in height while the content loads. You could add a placeholder element of some kind to keep the page height the same as it was prior to switching tabs and remove it once the tab's content loads so that the size only changes when there's new content to size to. 2. I think it makes sense to load the description tab, files tab, and the top 1-2 comments immediately when the page loads as those are the most frequently used tabs and should probably have their content ready-to-go rather than needing to wait for another request just to open them. 3. The close button is halfway off-screen on the "Suggest tags for this mod" pop-up. I think I'd prefer if this pop-up had collapsable sections that were collapsed by default, and a close button that stayed on-screen when scrolling so that you can easily exit the popup without needing to scroll back to the top. 4. The image carousel can be dragged even when it has fewer images than the amount that can be displayed at a time. 20250204-1656-31.3437929.mp4 5. Clicking on a tab multiple times in quick succession queues up requests (It should probably only submit a single request per page load unless there's some good reason that users can't be expected to refresh pages to see new content) which makes the interface unusable until those queued requests have finished. Can't include a video of this because of file size reasons, but just click on the tab a "LOGS" tab a lot and then try to interact with the tab's contents. 6. Changelogs need to include the date/time that they were added. Modders are notoriously bad at versioning and having the date/time is a great neutral backup
urbon
I like it...but would be better if the hot mods where more on top. This option seems irrelevant if you have this: That's the only wasted space for me.
