I don't understand why you make them disapear. THIS is soo true. Very important feature that you need to keep, if you really must change the design. Btw, "looks" doesn't matter, "functionallity" matters, if anybody thinks it's time to change to a more "modern" design.
CyrusFyre Posted yesterday at 04:42 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:42 AM (edited) I can't help but feel like there is too much wasted space. It all feels like everything is bubbled because of the large windows with gaps in between and above and below. It could be sleeker, I think. If make smaller and tighter you could fit five trending mods across the bottom instead of only four. And I would really like the option to just not see the promotions for the collections at all. I have no use for them and do not wish to see them and feel that are wasting valuable space that could be dedicated to something more universally used or to even just consolidate the space. I do like the dark background. It makes everything so much easier to see and gives it a nice, polished look. Keep that, please. I like that you can easily open and hide the filters when searching on mod pages. And the options presented therein are pretty handy. That works pretty well, too. Translations are pumped out at an incredible rate and can very quickly drown out mods in new. 10 hours ago, Tog666 said: The only annoying thing is the duplicate mods in different languages, I would like to disable such mods. LummoxJR Posted yesterday at 05:49 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:49 AM 2 hours ago, LummoxJR said: Following up on my comment about the title font on the mod pages being terrible, I have some alternative suggestions from a quick browse of Google Fonts. All of them are condensed or have a bit taller aspect: Athiti: Highly readable sans-serif, with a little bit of personality. Antic: A humanist sans-serif that isn't quite as wide as Inter. Open Sans Condensed: (I'm not sure why it disappeared from Google Fonts, but it's free for commercial use.) This one has a slimmer profile that's more in line with what Bebas Neue brought to the table, without being all-caps. PT Sans Narrow: Condensed humanist font with a high midline. Not my favorite, but it is distinctive. Encode Sans Condensed: Another condensed humanist font with a high midline. It has a lot of similarities to PT Sans. Fira Sans Condensed: The midline on this one is more pleasing IMO, but it still has a nice tight presentation. Saira Condensed: This one has a slight sci-fi feel, but only slight. I think it maintains some of the visual interest that Bebas Neue had. Any one of these would be a better font for the titles on mod pages than Inter. I just tested all of these (except for Open Sans Condensed). PT Sans Narrow and Saira Condensed are absolute winners at the current font size of 44px. Encode Sans Condensed would be fine at a smaller size, but it's naturally bigger than its peers for some reason. Out of all of the fonts I've looked at, Saira Condensed is my favorite. It's striking and still leaves room for longer mod titles.
cjaj Posted yesterday at 06:49 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:49 AM New theme seems like a classic theme facelift. For now classic theme seems fine, if not better than the new one. I know revamping and making a complete overhaul is difficult and time consuming. But in my humble opinion and keeping in mind what others are commenting here as well, like space matters and stuff being shuffled, it seems better to keep classic theme and if change is necessary, maybe change colors of classic theme while keeping the order, text, details, segmentation-s and tabs as is. Hope I'm not bothering too much. Cheers.
Koooi354 Posted yesterday at 07:12 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:12 AM (edited) I really would love to have the full Game Name for the current Mod Page shown somewhere that i can copy to the clipboard. The reasons are the following: - Sometimes there are Games which are almost named the same, for example the "Assassin's Creed" Games. However, if i opened multiple Mod Pages of these Games, the only way to keep them apart is via the Logo on the top left, cause all it´s showing me now is "Assassin's ....", and it´s kind of hard to keep them apart. By the way, this also goes for many other Games available on Nexus, like the "Call of Duty" Games. - And whenever there´s a new Mod Page for a Game opened up, and i don´t know the Game, it would be super helpful if i can quickly google the current Game. But right now i have to actually type out the Game on Google, cause i couldn´t copy it from the Mod Page. It also doesn´t help if the Name isn´t fully shown for this Game like i described before. Again showing the Full Game Name somewhere at the top (that we can actually also copy) would be super helpful! Asakti Posted yesterday at 07:21 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:21 AM Tried it and can't see any way to give feedback. But I agree with comments that there is too much space wasted from overly large images and padding on the main game pages. Would really, really prefer a 'compact' version so I don't need to scroll endlessly. Otherwise, all my time will be spent on the browsing mods screen as its nicely compacted. SaferWafer8 Posted yesterday at 07:54 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:54 AM It's a good start, and i like this as a first draft. I hope to see a little better use of space, and/or better definition of zones/sections. Currently the new design feels like a mobile webpage. Would it be possible to not have collections splitting the top mods trending mods and More mods (on the Game homepage) Having the filter options on the side bar when in the longer mod list is WONDERFUL. I don't mind the facelift, and am looking forward to improvements!
wipeout Posted yesterday at 08:08 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:08 AM Two key points of feedback on the mod list/search results page: 1. As others have said, the tiles are too big and seem to scale to different sizes depending on the browser window dimensions. You should be able to fit more mods on desktop-based windows at once, even if the window size and aspect ratio isn't a standard monitor screen. 2. Scrolling is laggy in the new design, almost like it's trying to achieve smoother scrolling and failing.
