Nero1534
Nero here, with quite an interesting proposal i just came up with. But before i go onto the details, please note that this is recommended for PROFESSIONAL modders ONLY, as you cannot use ANY vanilla weapons, armors, items, etc. in this character "look-alike" competition. (Yes, i said competition. Whoever makes their character look alike to the photo i'm going to put in wins. Note that it's only a friendly competition, and due to the rules of the Nexus staff, i cannot include any prizes. Though you probably will get alot of respect from your fellow modders, as i believe this to be a very difficult character to recreate, since it is not from any anime or game. Plus it has alot of torn/shredded parts, so that will be difficult itself to simply recreate and make them flow in the air correctly.) ANYWAYS. On to the details. If you decide to participate in this friendly competition of modding skill and style, you must recreate this character posted in the attachment. Once again, you MAY NOT use ANY Vanilla Oblivion weapons, armor, items, etc. for this competition. You also may not plagiarize anyone's work, if you do, you will automatically be disregarded and your entry will be denied. The same goes with anyone who uses any Vanilla items. You may use the picture for reference if you wish. Remember, the best look-alike wins! (You can also go for an epic background for bonus points ;P) The scores will be from 1-5, 1 being the absolute worst, 5 being the most epic i have ever seen. If your look-alike recieves a 5, you will automatically win, and the thread closed, but not deleted, so that others may admire your look-alike. :) Have fun and be safe modders! From the fan-based network,Nero. P.S: It would probably give you alot more fame in the modding world of Nexus if you posted the character/armor & weapon as a mod, so that other people can enjoy it as well. :)
Deleted1082189User
So youre basically saying you want to see an armor set made of that pic. You cannot use vanilla items, making it so it HAS to be from a mod. The rules also state you have to CREATE the armor without plaguerizing, meaning the modders have to make the armor themselves as custom items. Apparantly you want proffessional modders so the mod will look as close to the pic as possible. So basically you want a person to create a mod, post a screenshot so you can rate the mod on how close it is to the pic, and announce a winner. You also sneak in a hint that they should POST the mod on the site. Dude, its ok if youre shy. Just request the mod xD. P.S.: Please note im not trying to insult you or hurt your feelings in any way shape or form. Just pointing what I said above out. If you really are interested in a tournament then my mistake and apologies.
AncientSpaceAeon
I think we need to use animations on that one. You should request the mod, don't make this a competition. But there's a good point, with competition, everyone in it will try the best they could.

Nero1534
So, what, are you modders not brave enough to try and tame the fearful "shredded cloak design of the damned"? XD LOL seriously, it shouldn't be THAT hard to do, and you don't even HAVE to do the shredded parts, you could make it just a whole cloak if you wanted. It's a LOOK-ALIKE contest people. Not an "everything must be perfect or you're disqualified" contest. :P P.S: Before any of you *cough*...TROLLS...*cough* decide to whine at me because the thread has only been up for a few days, I must put in this final word. Do not whine at me, or i'll get Buddah to whoop your sorry asses out of the Nexus D:< Seriously. Don't do it. It makes you sound like a three year old when you whine at people. P.P.S: Have fun and be safe modders!Nero. P.P.P.S: Buddah Rules. Because he just does.
AncientSpaceAeon
I thought this will end this way, no modelers want to join the competition, no means to insult you. But . . . you may want to ask them . . . personallly . Just pm the modders here, you may want ask Fallout 3 modelers instead, modelling everywhere it's the same thing. P.S: It would probably give you alot more fame in the modding world of Nexus if you posted the character/armor & weapon as a mod, so that other people can enjoy it as well. Not many modders here mod for fame you know. Many of them mod for hobby and love (I learned this from another great modder out there), many of them to pleased you, but I think rare of them for fame and glory. But before i go onto the details, please note that this is recommended for PROFESSIONAL modders ONLY, as you cannot use ANY vanilla weapons, armors, items, etc.I don't think we can even use any vanilla things to make that. Do you think it's that easy to expect more than two professional modders to compete creating that armor. It's not that modders not brave enough to try, but that's a bit to much. Believe me, if anyone create that mod, It will get to the Top 100, quickly, very quickly. It's a look alike contest, no need to be perfect, but I think there's no one can make it look alike if it's not a hard work. No mean to insult your posts, but . . .You can't just ask those professional modders to enter your competition (you said it will give them alot more fame in the Nexus), while not all modders mod for fame, but some or many worked because they love to do so. Again, no means to insult your post, sorry, sorry and sorry if this can insult you, but that's my opinion.
Vagrant0
First off, there is no such thing as a professional modder, short of the devs at bethsoft who worked on the DLC. All modders are hobbyists, and are, as such, not earning money, livelyhood, or any professional development for their works. This is not to say that modding is devoid of value, professionally, and there isn't some overlap with other professions. But that modding itself is not a profession, and therefore, one can not be a professional modder. Secondly, what you are wanting, and what can be done in this game are two different things. Flowing cloaks like that are not possible. Period. Other floaty items like what is shown are also not possible. It's not that it's something to be afraid of, just that almost every way you could do it looks like crap 80% of the time due to how you have to either make it static, or have it weighted to the body. Most have realized this fatal flaw with any cloak/cape, and choose not to have their work marred by something that looks so horrible due to game limitations. Third, poses are not something which most can do, and they can take almost as much time as the armor itself, without really being useful for anything other than screenshots... so why bother given that the key elements, such as the cloak, will look like crap regardless? Fourth, without the cloak, without the pose, the one image is not enough to work from for anyone to make this. Far too much is obscured by the cloak, and no clear idea of the chest or weapon can be seen. Therefore, anyone who might work on it would likely need to fill in that lack of detail with whatever they think looks best. Fifth, given all that, most of the armor looks very similar to the the torso of leather armor, one of the vanilla pants, and chainmail boots, with some custom elements and new textures. To demand that all work done be new, unique models when most of what is shown looks close to vanilla models is just silly. Why spend the hours and hours doing work which was already done, and weighted? This part of the request shows little concern for the amount of time it takes to make even a simple armor model from scratch. All because you're being picky. To make this a contest of sorts, only shows that you have no idea what sort of effort is needed, and expect more than one person to do this work just so that you can say which one is closer. Sorry, but this is not how requests are made. Fame is a worthless reward for those modelers who are already overworked, even if there was some evidence that you could make good on any of it. Chances are that those diligent, and skilled enough to put the effort into this are already "famous" as modders anyway.
AncientSpaceAeon
That's one modder (for Nero, it's professional) that says you're kinda wrong on some parts. If you want to make this a contest, it's hard. You maybe notice that the mods on TESNexus that entered Millionth Member Competition is only 6, because they does it because it's their hobby. exanimis
I have an idea for a contest.I need ten people to send me $500.00 cash, the tenth person to send me the cash will win fame on the nexus. I'll post their name in my signature so that it will be in all of my posts. I will also post the name of the person who had the nicest attitude about giving away $500.00.
