scathtroy2147
I installed to the skyrim folder and setup in MO2. Launched it and used defaults. It worked and the LOD's look great. Edited March 30 by scathtroy2147
scathtroy2147
After about two hours, I got textgen to work. Now, it's says wrong resources download. 2/3 wrong files. Downloading all SE AE edition downloads. Found out all the docs are internet links. Manually saved all the web pages. soupdragon1234
xLodGen for Terrain (landscape) LOD (.btr). Do not use OScape, SSElodgen or anything of similar ilk they're spectacularly out of date DynDOLOD for Object (grass, rocks, buildings, etc) LOD (.bto) and Tree LOD (.btt) DynDOLOD generation guide here Support threads: https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/13451-xlodgen-terrain-lod-beta-130-for-fnv-fo3-fo4-fo4vr-tes5-sse-tes5vr-enderal-enderalse/ https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/20141-dyndolod-300-alpha-190/ and post any questions there (do read the requirements first you'll need to provide logs) Both are based on xEdit and typically require a bit of tinkering to the get the GOG version to be recognised as it defaults to Steam (or at least they used to) Â Â
wfandrews
Actually SSEEdit and SSELODGen are not that difficult to configure to run with GOG versions of SSE. They both use the same arguments -D, -I and-P because, as you said they are based on xEdit. However DynDOLOD uses different arguments, -M, -P and -D. I do not know if DynDOLOD is based on xEdit as the arguments are different, although you certainly could be correct. I have been playing the GOG version of SSE AE since it first came out on GOG as I do not like Steam the site, this is a personal opinion though and I realize they are many who enjoy Steam and the amenities on that site. The advice and links you have provided soupdragon should be very helpful to any player who wishes to use either xLODGen or DynDOLOD or both. Thank you.
scathtroy2147
tes nexus xlodgen installed into skyrim folder and run with MO2, no addition parms set. Works great, no problems. Output in game is spectacular!  https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6642 Same version I used years ago. Any reason I should use the newer version? Still need to virus scan it. I think I'll skip that until they upload it to nexus mods.  After reading off the dyndolod website and saving the website files, I did this. After installing dyndolod main into the desktop and the other two with MO2, not allowed. Installing to the recommended 'c:/DynoDOLOD/'. Setup the MO2 links to textgen and dynodolod with the parms needed. MO2 DynoDOLOD errors with textgen output not detected. After reading the converted to text file docs and web searches, nothing useful. (sigh)  Quote Use TexGen to generate object LOD textures and tree/grass LOD billboards into a dedicated output folder and then install as a mod. The dynodolod website docs translated into text files, both the main dynodolod main website and those links aren't clear enough. That's 3+ total hours to get this thing working. 'Use MO2 textgen to make a zip file. Then install with MO2'. That message should be added to the textgen output and the main site docs. That worked. The main skyrim mods: "0001","+","DLC: HearthFires","","",-1,"","" "0002","+","DLC: Dragonborn","","",-1,"","" "0003","+","DLC: Dawnguard","","",-1,"","" Update I have read, you not suppose to clean those, but I did it anyway. Then, I get: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/74752 A missing form ID, which all normal mods I had cleaned. In MO2, I unchecked it and ran DynoDOLOD again. It worked and ran skyrim. The results are not much different from xlodgen. xlodgen has tree generation, if you uses the textgen file. MO2 checked Atherium Forge expanded - no fcr. Skyrim works fine.  Edited April 1 by scathtroy2147
ModEnjoyer52
When you download a mod from the nexus it comes in a zip file, MO2 unpacks the zip into a mod folder of its own and that shows in the list on the left pane of the program. Similar action with TexGen, use 'save and zip' at the end of the process then you can drag the generated zip into the left pane of MO2 or use the button in the MO2 menu to add mod and navigate to the zipped output. Once the TexGen output is enabled as a mod, you shouldn't get the error.
