New UI - Aesthetic feedback

per my post from the original thread, and some observations since:

from the top to the bottom;
all pages - first, there's that 282px high blank hexcode 1d1d21 grey box (for ads? nothing ever loads in there). I don't expect that to go anywhere but it's very large
game main - I hope this design isn't a sign of what's to come for the mod pages, because I'm struggling to find the tabs (I know they exist, they were there last month) on any of the sections
game main compared to mods - before, it was very clearly defined how much space the website would use *across all pages*. please, either use the whole width everywhere or don't

all pages - other than the header bar, all the page elements are center-anchored; this means when you zoom to under 100%, they shrink further into the center column and nothing at either edge fills the gaps?
new compared to old - I vastly preferred the old hexcodes 29292e and 1d1d21 grey "hey, this is where all the stuff is" central column; it made focusing on the content in front far easier

mod list:
- I don't mind the filter list being at the side but would greatly prefer it if it was fixed in place rather than anchored to the mod list
- the new mod tiles take up 40px more height with minimal increase in information (see below); this compounds very badly with the additional 30px row spacing
image.png.7b842c81d7032cc87ea6a286731c32a0.png
- despite there being roughly enough space for 5 rows of text in the larger mod tiles, it cuts off entirely after the 4th

I just cancelled my premium subscription because I DETEST your new ui/search page.  Not only is it aesthetically displeasing, it is far less convenient to use than your old page.  What is it with all of these web pages that keep "fixing" what isn't broken and making their service less desirable?  Just leave stuff alone if it works.

Every time a website or app I use frequently does a massive UI "overhaul" like this, I drop the service. They're never good often times they seem outright hostile. The parts of the website I *want* to use are further away and worse to navigate, nothing is intuitive and it's all too clean. There was nothing wrong with the old layout. Stop looking for problems when there are none. I'm not downloading mods from my phone, stop using ugly terrible mobile UI practices. Seriously, stuff like that kills my interest in using anything. I'm dropping Discord for Signal and looks like I'll be dropping Nexus for just playing unmodded games. God forbid anything is designed to do anything useful. Gotta broadcast the ads and the slop, that'll bring more users! We're already throttling their download speeds unless they pay us a subscription, might as well spit in their face, too! Like I wanna just politely say "it's bad" but it's not like any feedback is taken seriously anyways so why bother being polite about it? I'm yelling into a void where the only people who will actually see it, is no one who can/will do anything about it, so I might as well express how I actually feel about this. It was a bad decision and everyone who made it should no longer make decisions like this. Probably gonna just delete my account entirely soon. So sick everything being designed to look and feel worse.

Wish the change never happened. I don't see any benefits of the new view.

By making everything flat you've also made everything less distinctive. In the old view, the trending was clearly separated from new, there were very clear tabs for New, New this week, and so on. Now it's all muddled together, it's ugly. You could argue the old Nexus had a relatively dated style, but it was readable and easier on the eyes. The new one attempts to follow trends set out by other soulless corporate website design overhauls like Youtube. And it still is very restricted horizontally, which looks aesthetically worse now that there is no separation from the foreground and background. It's too flat, boring, and confusing.

There is also far less information presented, and yet it takes up monumentally more space. There's one fewer trending mods displayed, why? The New/Updated/Whatever table has 4 columns while the old had 5, and yet it has not become any more readable and I have to scroll more to see less. The thumbnails and font size has increased at the cost of information density and the benefit of... nothing. If a user wants a larger font, they can press Ctrl and +. I can't press Ctrl and - to bring the old density back.

What does "Trending" mean, is that the replacement for "Popular(30 days)" of the old layout? "Trending" carries less meaning, since I have to ask what it means. Make the tabs "Popular - all time" and "Popular - this month", don't make it worse because the word "trending" is fashionable.

The search results are okay (other than the inferior aesthetics, all flat etc.) and they mostly fit the page width. Why not do the same for the front page? I can understand the actual mod page since that can make descriptions look worse as they don't often have a lot of text, but when dealing with large (or rather very large in the new layout) thumbnails on the front page, there is no reason not to make it fit the page width.

I also wish the results defaulted to mods when I hit enter rather than displaying me a little fraction from each category in the pop-up search menu, and then doing the exact same thing but larger when I hit enter instead of the small "View all" button for the mods. Mods are the primary use of the site, if someone wants to look for users or collections, have them click the extra button instead of most people.

I don't understand why the Nexus people responsible for this consider the aesthetics changes an improvement, especially since usability is inferior. Are they deliberately trying making the service worse? Do they not use the website? I can only assume with the amount of people being displeased at this change, especially if they're serious mod creators, the likelihood of them moving to or straight up creating competing sites will be higher. Is the change supposed to appeal to the younger audience that grew up with phones (and therefore phone-centric website designs) rather than PCs? They can get bent, they're using the internet wrong. You don't install Skyrim mods on Android.

This is my first ever forum post on nexus, but I just have to say something because I cant stand the new UI and I'll probably stop using nexus if it remains like it is. The new UI is very bland and has no wdepth hich makes it hard to navigate and read mod titles. When browsing with new UI I found myself leaning up to my screen to try to cause less strain on my eyes. I honestly hope the UI changes are reverted or an option is added to go back to the old UI.

SIgh... for the nth time:

High-Res or High-Viz, whichever you want to call it, BLINDS ME!

I'm photosensitive and all the bright white on a black background makes it so that after about 5 minutes, max, I have my field of vision covered in ghost black letters. It's like looking at the sun and getting blots on your eyes.

Who was the moron (sorry, it has no other name) that thought this would suit everyone? Who forgot that there is more than one type of visual impairment out there?

Give us an option to apply the old colors (and don't tell me it's impossible, I know it's a lie). We shouldn't be having to resort to mess around with CSS in order to be able to surf the site because of some arbitrary Labour minister farted an idea.
