thebearup
I'm considering making a Nuka Land mod for New Vegas. Part of that will involve reusing existing carnival rides (Primm's roller coaster, Point Lookout Ferris Wheel, etc). Is there anything special one needs to do so that low-poly versions of these assets are rendered at a distance? Or does the engine just handle that for you? The easy thing would probably be to make this an isolated map that one travels to/from via a waypoint if some kind. But I would *like* to place this somewhere in the main map to improve immersion. JimboUK
You'd need to generate LOD, this explains it https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/lod.html
M48A5
You cannot use assets from Fallout3 in a mod for Fallout: NewVegas and vice versa. You can have the mod reference the game assets, but that would require the users to have both games installed. That is the reason A Tale of Two Wastelands is not hosted on Nexus Mods. laclongquan
The easiest thing to do is creating mod in Tale of Two Wasteland platform. That way you can make use of F3 assets, no prob~ Sure, that limit you to TTW user audience. BUT otherwise you have to do some shenanigans with F3 assets which is just risky~
JimboUK
There are a lot of FO3 assets in the NV BSAs, I don't know if the ferris wheel is one of them but it's worth a look.
Pixelhate
"out of the total combined Adjusted Asset count of 54,930 files, 18,008 are common to both games" Here's an excel spreadsheet showing the asset differences between Fo3 and FNV https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34774

Anyway it looks like the OP is out of luck.
