When you visit, the only message you get is that it's been down for maintenance since april '24, and that you should visit the discord for more info. I do not have discord. Does anyone know why it's down and has been for so long? Edited May 2 by d4em

d4em
I have been, but it's full of pages like this and just generally really bare-bones. And the skyrim one isn't accurate for fo4. But like, why does backend maintenance take a year? Edited April 25 by d4em

Expand I think "backend maintenance" is a polite way of saying we have taken it down and it won't ever be back. Good information on FO4's version of the Creation Kit has always been a sought after resource. It amazes me that as much modding gets done for FO4 why there are so few tutorials and other resources. d4em
There seem to be a lot on youtube but those you can't ctrl+f and just keep next to you as you work as a reference And noone wants to see some dude on youtube list all script functions and talk through their technical details, it's just not a good medium for that And also youtube's advertising scheme has gotten more predatory so I've mostly stopped using it at all There is a lot of knowledge on nexus though, it's just not organized in a wiki that's easy to search through And google / other search engines aren't good at searching nexus, they like to return material that was popular 8 years ago or that's only relevant to nonmodders (or links to beth's broken site)
Qrsr
Would be interesting if nexusmods goes all in and says, "hey we are probably the most used modding platform on the www" and in this regards says the following "we started to create wikis for every mod" infact there is/are alot of valueable wiki sites on the nexus aswell currently. But your perfectly right, the initial wiki is gone and its very bad.
NeinGaming
The searchability is really a problem. For example, I just put all the source files of all papyrus extender mod into a subfolder I dragged into Sublime Text, same for the base game scripts, so I can just right-click and search the files in all subfolders of what I just clicked for something. Trying to find out via the web what functions there are to do something with items or an inventory or whatever would take ages in comparison. Just take these forums and how harsh the timeout is. I'm logged in, I forgot to tick "has ALL search terms", and then I decided I just want to search topic titles -- bam, timeout. Instead, imagine something like this haha (type anything to see what I mean)
Qrsr
Hm im not sure if your serious, look: https://ck.uesp.net/w/index.php?search=script https://ck.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Papyrus https://ck.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Script_Objects https://ck.uesp.net/wiki/Category:SKSE_Script_Objects you can find anything there ... the amount of time required to get used to it is relative compared to what google and else is giving you...
