seweryn Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Hey, So i want to add a collection to Skyrim, but from what i read collections description pages they require powerful GPU, ton of ram and good CPU. I have i7-4790 and rx 570, 24GB of ram. Up to this point, i am satisfied with my system game performance. But collections have bigger requirements than my hardware. Recommended specs for Constellations are Intel i5-11400 / RTX 2070 ; Gate to Sovengarde - around RTX 2070. So worth playing with collections if i have older hardware? Thanks for the info, Cheers
greyday01 Posted May 20 Posted May 20 You could simply get the list of mods in the collection and install only the mods with lower requirements. It doesn't really take that long even for a list of hundreds. Also a lot of graphic mods come in several versions 1K, 2K or 4K. Installing by yourself you can pick the lower version which might play better on your computer. Also looking at the individual mods in the collection you might not want everything in their list. Or choose a collection that has lower requirements.
scorrp10 Posted May 20 Posted May 20 It really depends on the purpose of the collection. Some collections are specifically targeted at upping the game's looks. Higher res textures. more detailed meshes, advanced lighting shaders, more detailed cities/dungeons/forests, more realistic water/blood/etc, more varied animations, physics on clothes/bodies etc. Some collections are more concentrated on adding better gameplay, interesting followers, extended dialogue, more in-depth quests and such. For my part, I absolutely stay away from collections. I prefer to have every single mod installation to be a thought-out, conscious decision by me. For one thing, you get a much deeper understanding as to how many mods depend on and interact with each other. And sure, we don't really have much in the way of statistics here, but I suspect that 90%+ of those folks who come here, plonk down a 500+ mod list and ask "why is my game crashing" are collection victims.
