Heyfyr Posted June 6 Posted June 6 There's a mod in Vortex called OBR INI Merge mod that doesn't want to uninstall. I select remove but it just puts itself back into vortex after a second. I tried manually deleting the files, but it still does the same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and that got rid of it for a little but it came back after I closed the game once. This feels more like a virus then a mod, I don't know how to fix it so I can run my game again. What should I do?
Zanderat Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Reading is a thing: Oblivion Remastered Vortex Support. Quote So whenever you deploy your mods, Vortex scans the staging folder for merge-able ini files (currently only Altar.ini) and creates a fully merged file inside that mod in staging. That "mod" will never be deployed, but it's used by Vortex's core ini_prep extension to apply the ini tweaks over to the game's Altar.ini file. You can test this new functionality with mods such as: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/436 https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/443 Disabling the mod will restore the default Altar.ini file. 1
fgoron2000 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Sounds like a new Vortex function? I've been playing Oblivion Remastered for a month and a half or so, but this OBR INI Merge mod only appeared for me, maybe a couple weeks ago. Or is it because I only then incorporated a mod that had that Altar.ini file?
ScentOfToast Posted June 14 Posted June 14 No, this must be a new Vortex function. I haven't changed my mods in 3 weeks or more, and this just popped up for me in the past week or so.
jayde830 Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Remove the "Alternative Beginnings OBR.ini" from the DataSyncMap folder. It is strongly recommended that if you're going to remove the mod, you wait until AFTER "Deliver the Amulet" is finished and Jauffre has sent you on to Kvatch. Place as far down your list of plugins as practical. www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/3160
