Thistlebear Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I'm back to modding Oblivion (original) after a two-year hiatus. I bought it via Steam. I use Vortex to manage all of my mods. I am trying to retexture a specific building using Nifskope and for that, I need the .nif file. I open BSA commander to get the .nif file from the BSA, but I can't find any BSAs in Oblivion's Data folder. What I do find is "_folder_managed_by_vortex". I cant remember how I solved this problem two years ago. I'm pretty sure I was able to solve it without ditching Vortex. Any ideas? Recommendations?
ChemBoy1 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Your mods are either not installed, not enabled, or not deployed. Or the BSA files were deleted from the mod staging folder. There are many possible reasons. These are the most basic things to check. Installed? Enabled? Mods Deployed? BSA Files in the Staging Folder?
Thistlebear Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 I'm not seeing any BSA files AT ALL. Not mine, not Oblivion's, none.
ChemBoy1 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Well, Vortex cannot delete the game's native files. You need to verify your game files. Sounds like you didn't check the status of your mods in Vortex. You need to do some basic troubleshooting if you want people to spend their time helping you.
Thistlebear Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. 23 hours ago, ChemBoy1 said: Installed? Enabled? Mods Deployed? BSA Files in the Staging Folder? Installed? Yes. Everything is showing up in the mods tab. Enabled? All have green check marks. Mods Deployed? All .esp files are showing up in the plugins tab. 19 hours ago, ChemBoy1 said: Well, Vortex cannot delete the game's native files. You need to verify your game files. I've verified the integrity of the game's files via Steam. The BSA files have to be somewhere because the game and the mods I installed are all running correctly. Everything is rendering appropriately and nothing is missing in game. I just can't find the BSA files for the game's meshes and textures, or any .bsa at all, for that matter.
showler Posted June 12 Posted June 12 You should probably post an image of the folder, including the full path in the location bar. Something is wrong.
