LeapinL posted this on another thread so credit to them, but turning off autosort in the plugins tab and restarting Vortex seems to work, at least for some of us.

That may be a solution for some, but it wouldn't let me switch profiles regardless of what I did. I had no choice but to revert back to version 1.14.5

Vortexの現状では、ゲームを始めるリスクすら負いません。v1.14.5をダウンロードして、通常通り管理者としてインストールしてください。アンインストールは不要です。v1.14.6が上書きされ、通常通り動作します。

It's essentially stuck in a constant loop of trying to physically write to both loadorder/plugins.txt (updates multiple times per second) and won't let go (until auto-sort disabled). I think is having conniption fit trying to make LO column match its numerical sort, which it had never done properly (regarding f04 creations in particular). So, it might be related to mismatched masterlist metadata finally rearing its ugly head

Edit: I can reproduce when creations are present (up to and including Steam NG bundled content)
If CC are removed, sorting loop error stops completely but throws benign error on every reboot

Error: The plugin "Fallout4.esm" has not been loaded.

Example of how broken default CC sort is:

CC content will always load first and in a certain order. I don't think that can be changed.

I'm not suggesting that it could be but considering game itself doesn't even need it written to plugins.txt to be able to load it doesn't excuse Vortex from never having sorted it correctly either... as indicated by the wack LO column in my above pic. Also has to be related somehow to current error - in that removing CC content stops process of it constantly trying to rewrite its own plugins.txt to be what it should essentially consider as "out of order" bc since when does 163 come after 27 or 31 after 118? Plus the LOOT App itself doesn't do this - last time I tested

Can anyone affected by the infinite sorting loop download and test this interim version? https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/actions/runs/16041518094/artifacts/3455138763

In 1.14.6 we've added a mechanism which was supposed to allow you to sort your mods even when encountering invalid plugins. This mechanism could potentially create a recursive sorting loop which does end eventually, but we never expected for the process to hit the processor this hard. That mechanism is gone in the linked installer, but we would really appreciate if someone can confirm that it's fixed!

You may need to log on to your Github account to be able to download it. (I think GH forces you to log in when downloading CI artifacts)
