Stop removing what I typed from the username/email field when I fail a login attempt

This isn't a big issue, but due to the fact that I only need to download mods from time to time, sometimes months apart, COMBINED with this site's strenuous password requirements, I often find myself needing to re-try my password on the login screen multiple times before succeeding (or having to reset my password, equal chance really). I can put up with that, but what I find more annoying is that failing a login attempt will also reset all text in the username/email field as well. Maybe it's not a big deal to some, but I don't use the exact same username everywhere, so I opt to type in my email instead, and I foolishly made my email super long and annoying to type out many years ago. This means I have to re-type my entire 29 character email every time I forget my password, multiple times. This can sometimes be solved by copying my email and pasting it on each failed attempt, but sometimes I also have something in my clipboard that I don't want to overwrite or have to scroll back through just to solve this one issue, and I think it would be easier to just preserve the username/email text field on each failed login attempt.

And just to reiterate, I don't think this is really a huge deal. I mean, I've put up with it for years and years and in my case specifically, I've made it harder on myself. Either way, I always thought this was just kind of dumb and was bothered by it enough to ask: can't the text in the email field just... stay there? Pretty please? 🥺

And while we're at it, lower the password limitations to just 8 characters... it's a mod file sharing service not a government website. I doubt I'd be writing this right now if that were the case a long time ago.

Why not just save that info in a password manager or your browser?

let's just say I use this account in incognito mode a lot
