gokon
So, I hate to make my first post be a help request(I know it says I have 5, but the other 4 are just comments on mods), but I wasn't planning on posting at all until I had learned to mod for myself later this year, and could create something worth sharing. Anyway, the problem I'm having is that yesterday, my game started a very peculiar behavior. It crashes when I wait. I get to the menu to tell it how long I want to wait for, and select the number of hours as usual. Then, the game autosaves successfully, freezes for 10 to 15 seconds, and crashes to the desktop. Though I don't believe this is mod-related, it is, of course, possible. The reason I don't think it's mod-related is that I hadn't installed any new mods in nearly a week, and had played for approximately 20 hours in that space with no malfunctions at all. I don't think screenshots are relevant here, but if you want them I can try to provide some. LFact
If I were you, I'd disable all autosave. Disable autosave, press T to wait, check if the game crashes again.
gokon
Will do. I'll edit this post with my results, unless of course someone else has an idea before I finish testing yours. edit: Amazing! I'm shocked that the fix was so simple, but it worked. Thank you very much. Kudos, good ma'am.

They can corrupt your saved game, in the end. Always make a hard save, in new slot every time.
Naminea
I back up my most recent saves 2, just in case.

LFact
Isn't it 'good ma'am'?No, he's a sir according to his profile. That 'good sir' points the person who answered to the question. And do you think I'm a guy? **On the rail again:You can also disable autosave via editing (My Documents)\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini. bAllowScriptedAutosave=1 ........ bSaveOnTravel=0 bSaveOnWait=0 bSaveOnRest=0Changing them to 0 will disable all autosave. If you ever need quicksave, you can use Streamsave function of Streamline(though you also need OBSE).
AncientSpaceAeon
That 'good sir' points the person who answered to the question. And do you think I'm a guy?Well, yeah. No avatar or sig, I usually find member's gender just by looking their avatar. Sorry, didn't know you are female.
gokon
I didn't know you were female either, sorry. I'll gladly edit the post to say "ma'am" instead of "sir". And thanks again for the suggestion.

Don't be so sorry. Though I'm sensitive about that, but in the net, most people won't know you're male or female unless you tell them. And besides, my usernames are either masculine or neuter.
