Hi folks,

So the site change is practically complete and there's only a few things that need doing now (albeit the longest and most boring! -- i.e. adding all the unofficial Oblivion FAQs into the database).

It's been several months in the making and I've been desperate to release the new version of the site before the four year anniversary of the site in August. Four years .. the thought obviously stirs up a lot of pride and emotion when I class Morrowind Chronicles (the original site name) as the beginning of my webmastering career. My thanks go to Bethesda for providing, in my opinion, the best game of the millenium for me to follow, and the veterans of the Morrowind Chronicles/TESSource community, of which I can only think of a handful -- Theta Orionis; who's been along for the ride ever since the site launched, Switch and Malchik; who've done a stand-up job keeping the forums clean, tidy, welcoming and fun, Peregrine; for the work he did moderating the forums and being the forum whine-wort, and the entire Middle-Earth Mod team who caused me to laugh so hard while it was running that it was often the only thing that kept me running the site.

Ok, moving on...

Yes, so the site's changed. It's all different now!

The most noteable (and probably important) change (from your point of view) would have to be the fact the file database has moved. Files are now at http://www.tessource.net/files/. It's got a new look, and it's now a part of the rest of the site. I hated the fact the files database was seperate from TESSource, it was almost as though I was dividing the site up, like saying "the only reason why you should come here is for the mods". Heck, I know you're probably thinking the files are the only reason you go to TESSource, but that's not the point damnit wink.gif

I'll be putting a redirect up on files.tessource.net tomorrow so that people are forwarded to the new system. Unfortunately if you're linking to files.tessource.net then the link will no longer point to your mod -- you need to update it to point to the new location. Sorry about that!

All current mods in the database are fine, secure, and will be ok. You don't need to do anything unless you're linking to your mods on the forums (or a website).

No doubt there will be some problems with the new system, error messages, things not working as they should, etc.. I've tried to test the system thoroughly but there's always holes in my testing routines. If you find any problems please inform me, PM or email ([email protected]). This community is normally very good at doing this, so thanks in advance! smile.gif

I like the new look. I liked the old one maybe a little more, although the dropdown menus I thought were a bit odd looking. The new hyperlinks look much better I think. ^^ Can't say I recognise the design. I guess it's from a little before I noticed the place. :P Still, it looks nice, very clear.

Nice work.

Oh, and thanks for the mention. I really appreciate it. :D
