lich39 Posted July 15, 2009 Share Posted July 15, 2009 Hello. I had recently done a Battle for Kvatch quest where you must kill the Daedra which are swarming the city. But all of the Kvatch guardsmen died in the battle except for the Captain, who is marked as essential NPC. This made me sad as I am always trying to keep the non-respawning NPCs alive. In my previous game where I was not using mods yet they all died too and I made special arrangements for the battle in my current game. I recruited 8 of the Imperial Legion watchmen with the Companion Share and Recruit mod. And at the end of a battle only one survived. Now this was probably due to the Francesco's mod which raised the number of enemies at the castle yard. But despite that, I see that it is very difficult to keep the soldiers alive. I mean, I thought that many Legion men would do nice job helping the Kvatch guards with the help of me healing them with spells and potions. So I am wondering, did someone here manage to keep someone of the Kvatch guard alive? Because if they did, I would really need the advice how to keep them alive. Anyway, thanks for your time. David Brasher Posted July 16, 2009 Share Posted July 16, 2009 I stumbled upon a way to win the battle of Kvatch with almost no casualties on your side. It is sort of lame and makes it seem like the game is balanced wrong. I don't have any big game-changing mods. It is practically vanilla Oblivion in that respect. If you play the battle of Kvatch while you are level 1, it is easy. The enemies are leveled so low that your side just wins. You may have to face four or five terrifying standard scamps as the bosses in the castle, but before that point, casualties will be very light.
