For a noob, what's the ambient your talking about (short answer).

Real-time visual representation of how the area will look in game, lights flicker and glow, shadows are being casted, water flows and reflects the surroundings, trees and grass sway, etc.

 

I'm fine with most of it, even my CK is stable. It's just the fact that there's no way to make a merchant sell keys without doing a f'ing quest, with dialogue, and custom scripting.

You obviously never modded Fallout, in GECK you need to make a quest, dialogue and scripts for each merchant in the mod. It's tiresome when you're trying to make a market with 5-6 merchants in it.

I learned all my basics (I mean the real basics, statics, lights, texture sets) in the GECK...

 

I've sussed the bloody keys out for the CK now though :dance:

 

The annoying thing is,, you need to set up a quest alias (ANY quest alias) before it'll let you attach properties to a quest stage papyrus fragment, seemingly even if the alias you set up is NOTHING to do with any properties you end up using)

I gave up after the ck keep scrashing instantly in Windows 7. Instantly. Still does. I gave up.

 

Mine doesn't :D

 

Honestly I've had next to zero stability issues with the CK. Just issues with it's labyrinthine nature.

 

The GECK I could barely keep open for 5 minutes without it blowing up. Even Skyrim itself is pretty much stable for me now.

You could beta test my stupidly high object count mod for me :D

 

If you're running heavy SSAO some of the lighting might give you a bit of a pummelling too, bet it's near pitch black with most ENBs though, I like it moody...

Yes ssao is on, set for fast mode but the quality and occlusion is maxed out. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/teehee.gif set for high. Also fxaa and imaginator. Also just now fixed the ultra dark issue with enb by using the ultra realistic lighting mod. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/teehee.gif
